Honestly, the whole "is it reallly my child" line of thinking would make sense if it was one of those stories where MC gets reincarnated into the middle of their childhood and suddenly changes. Which isn't the case here. The mother knew MC for as long as she was alive (in this life) so it feels kind of baffling. As far as she should be aware, outside of the "almost killing the pitbull that tried to eat her that one time" part, MC seems to just be a normal introverted child.
The guild recruitment is a hugely rushed plot point. Either we are not notified of some crucial information about MC, or they really just recruited a 12 year old noble's daughter based entirely on the rumor of her killing that one dog when she was 6.

Yeah. And in her behaviour, I think she just lacks the ability to express herself. But having such a moron be her mother would further increase her mental problem.

Not sure what I expected going into this, but now I'm getting strong "Otome Game no Heroine de Saikyou Survival" vibes with a young murderhobo female lead. She's probably not going on a solo assassin adventure like Aria, but I can imagine she'll live life with a similar mindset.

Her mother Amaryllis doesn't seem ready for motherhood with her naive and immature take on her daughter's act of self-defense, indications that she lived an excessively sheltered and spoiled life. A womanchild or whatever the female equivalent of manchild is.

She adopted a random girl off the streets without her husband's knowledge and agreement, and now he comes back forced to take under his wing a new daughter, a stranger who isn't his or his wife's blood-related child.

I thought Rosemary might've been an interesting little sister, but the more I saw her the more I felt like she is going to become a manipulative antagonist in Serena's life, siding with her actual mother.

The assassin scouting plot is really out of place here.

Probably heard about her stabbing a dog through the grapevine, wanted to find her anyways, and then sees her throw a dagger at a shopkeeper. More than reason enough

I know people are complaining about the mom... but I think its more unusual how every other isekai treats adults reincarnated that dont really act like children as if its normal, even in our own normal world at that era of development kids that behave oddly start getting suspected of being possessed or being demons or something.
