he has another skill blessed by the goddess: to purchase a new random skill appears each month. since it's random it is better to save exp in case you roll a unique and useful skill this month.

this only possible because his classmates are actually not that bad, allow him to do nothing in classes (they call him exp thief though lol)

it's a miracle that nobody bully him through the year. guess they are all have high level skills so they have pride.

So... you  know that this whole "D e mO n  L oRd" business is happening; it will engulf the world, you will die, Hero will fight, all that.
So, there will be no chance of finding a peaceful life without the hero, and the  actual  GOD told you about your first skill and all that.
So... you know; you know it as a fact.
And you're somehow SO JAPANESE that you think you should just not help, think, participate, or otherwise be involved with something that will happen to you personally?

Why make a medieval setting, if nobody thinks like anything other than a postmodern Nihon?
It's actually a very rare mindset, yanno? Because you can't build a society, nor succeed as a society if you think that way; you have to have an already successful nation-state to be able to afford that mentality.

It's a fun premise, and I'm liking this manga, but every time some character says "hmmm; better not get involved" regarding some shit that directly affects them...?

Because in a lack of human rights, strength means you are in the right crap-world, like most of human history actually was, the only way to ensure you lead a peaceful life is if you have the strength to send away, or remove any obstacles to that life.
That means being strong enough to ignore any random noble who wants your wife as a "Maid" (non-consensual concubine), or bandits who want you crops, etc.

The exponential growth means he will start slow, but eventually be able to take on nations, if he care to, or ignore nations if he does not care to listen to them.

I just realized this was explained in ch 2.
I only skimmed it because I find the fact that the god can be deceived was too stupid.

But this is an unusual mechanic. So level up is not automatic. And you need the same "currency" for buying skills and level up.
