To be honest I'm more interested in the other couple of the smug princess and the black haired girl, I find them more interesting but I see that the author hasn't dedicated a single chapter to them.

I like Alice so far, and even if this some love triangle with the Princess in the middle Alice doesn't seem like the kind of person to pull dirty moves or unnecesary drama. Is going to be sad to see her lose her first love but there's lots of cute mages in the castle waiting for her-

But that's her goal, right? She (the MC) despises herself, and quits specifically to prove that everybody else should hate her.
She is almost shrieking to the heavens about quitting, hating herself, refusing to try; she hates herself so fucking much that she will do whatever she can to prove to others that they should hate her, as well.

I mean, that's pretty classic behavior for somebody growing up closeted in a society that has a strong disapproval of homosexuality; and Japan is still very much not Alphabet friendly.

But she isnt there, now! And, with the MC demanding that everyone hate her, and her refusal to prevent these people from dying, amd all of it merely due to a minor, and largely imagined, inconvenience?

Yeah, I agree; fuck her attitude, and fuck her if she keeps it.
