Personally I liked the title Sword God better than Sword Deity. Seems like MC was so focused on learning sword skills the hard way he completely forgot to learn everyday knowledge. Seems like he doesn't know anything outside his interests like his country's history, social skills, and common sense. Poor demon, just resurrected and going to get killed facing an opponent didn't have the sense not to fight. Hopefully the fight gets the Dad to get his pride back and move forward, although considering a high class demon is getting in a fight with MC the tournament is probably going to be delayed for a while due to all the damage literally destroying the fighting area. Wonder if MC will let the demon know his mother is a Sword Deity that he trained with like he did in v2 ch8?

also, keep in mind that it isn't really that the mc "forgave" him for the stuff he's already done, it's that the mc doesn't care. He'll never care if people threaten or belittle him, he'll never feel insulted. His ONLY concern is getting stronger and learning more skills. If you threaten his life along the way, he'll at most see it as a chance to gain more power, if not then an obstacle. Hell, this was suppose to go a bit longer with the guy not transforming till it's clear he can't win as the mc lets him use his sword emperor skills so he can learn those too.
