This school is absolute trash, and must not be nearly as 'elite' as they said earlier.

@Pandawanka which makes no sense because for magic he needs to actually make new formula, understand the logic behind each spell, learn the script necessary to write new concepts, it's a much harder discipline and requires some techniques that can't be gotten naturally through innate capabilities.
In swordfighting you can actually be a genius and curbstomp people with few to no training sessions whatsoever if you were born with a good fighting sense, good reflexes, and have natural disposition to develop the right muscles.

Why do all magic teachers seem to become complete narcissists the moment a student with some talent shows up? Like isn't it part of your literal job to have successful students? Or better yet, why would you immediatly degrade a student with talent in the first place? It isn't like you are being asked for something new. There is already a precedent in place for this exact sinario even. Just do your damn job and stop trying to pad your ego by going all out against your student, who you already expect to be fairly weaker than you in the first place.
It is like a fully grown ass adult going force in a 10 year olds football game, fully intending on wiping the floor with them. In this case specifically, that adult is also a professional player since their teacher was a potential candidate for the Magic King title.

I wanna say that the teachers are acting unprofessional and not like proper teachers, but this seems accurate to real life to me, so...

I hope this race ends up being 2 panel long with the next chapter showing mc at the finish line the moment the race starts and then the other panel showing the announcer's surprise as he's forced to say the race is over. No need to spend more panels on it.

He's in the same classes as the 3 kids, all the promotion exam does is letting him skip grades to study more advanced materials.
Which, if you think about how early exam are common enough to have precedents for it, then it's not seen as something that special.
He only took two exams so far btw, he hasn't skipped all the years yet.
And we don't know if the principal doesn't know about him, all we know is that the principal is busy so the teacher is telling Arel not to bother him (and he only was going to do so to take the exam)
As for him being in every class but isn't being noticed, the story established the reason already:
