Here's my theory : The story goes to a stand still because the author is focusing on the anime adaptation, he needs to make sure by the time the anime ends the manga is still rolling and get that sweet revenue from people that buy the manga from the anime

It kinda makes sense too, the anime adaptation announcements coincide with the school arc if I remember correctly

I want to recommend you to read the novel. But I think it would be hypocritical of me, since I also have the same exact problem with Tower of God anime.

So my best advice to you is just to drop this manga for three years, and I'll guarantee you that the arcs after this will be super exciting to see, and highly relevant to the entire plot.

Does this manga has nothing exciting left to see rather than the shabby one sided love story and some stupid puns with the people around rudeus? It feels like the author either got swapped or had a stroke in the past and now he's making a story just like a amateur story writer, where he thinks that every every single one of his reader is either dumb or has nothing to do in their life.

Hey guys, the manga is just following up a Novel which is already completed and was slow, even slower, the same way when going under this arc.


This is the worst arc of all Mushoku Tensei. Before was better, and please be patient, because after this arc it will got a LOT better, even than the previous arcs. The rollercoaster of feels is still to come.

In this arc the author maybe was out of ideas and needing to publish anything, and turn Mushoku Tensei Novel (at that time) in a generic School Comedy.

This is the only "bad" arc in Mushoku Tensei. I assured you that there'll be no more arcs like this in the future.

You should understand that the author intends to write Mushoku Tensei as a biography of a man named Rudeus Greyrat, telling the story about his birth, his death and everything in-between.

I understand your frustation, because you're so used to reading a story which are limited to one to five genre/theme/trope.

I'll argue that this school arc isn't a filler and is as important as the other arcs before and after.

In fact, this arc actually sped-up his meeting with key figures to future plot:
- Rinia and Pursena
- Ariel, Luke, and Silphy
- Cliff, Zanoba and Julie
- Nanahoshi

Without this arc, it would be very hard for the author to naturally gather the key figures closer to Rudeus.

i really like the pace of this arc,i've already read the original novel tons of times and the way they connect people and build the relationships are really unique.
Sylphy is by far one of the best girls and this arc shows a lot more than just the actual problem with Rudeus so plz be patient guys

Edit: this is a total character development focused arc,don't expect awesome fights or something like that,just try to appreciate the actual vibe
