The story is getting really really weird and it would require a too open minded mind with a brain almost fall off to accept that this is commonly enjoyable. People are freaks to be able to enjoy this development of the story. 😂😂😂 Seriously wtf the story has become?
He probably prefers if his girlfriend doesn't die just because she can't get her survival dickings from him for whatever reason. I can't imagine why he'd want her to stay alive though. Do people not date corpses in this setting? Pfft.
Same sort of reason why people think that Minecraft invented sandbox crafting games - because it's popular enough to become the standard everyone thinks of to the point that they forget any earlier examples exist.
@Spinaple because she is as timid as fuck and doesnt want to change the status quo. Honestly all of this wouldve been solved had she told Rudeus her real name when they first met again in the magic aptitude test.
I wonder how far the anime will get, probably to the big explosion? I'm not sure since I can't really think of any other part to finish the first season on
@MangoCo Well if you looked up the trailer you clearly see a lot of the Demon continent Arc and you can see Orsted so i think its gonna be either cut out a lot from the LN a rushed Start (first two volumes in 2-4 Episodes) and atleast 24 Episodes if they go all the way too the End of the Jornrney after the Teleport Incidient thats the least ammount they need. I am both very concerned the Anime will do things rushed but also Hyped cause i never thought this Story would get animated.
For those unhappy with how the current arc is going, the original author is playing with the rythm of the story and events a lot in the novel. He really enjoy throwing huge punches coming from nowhere right in the middle of quiet and relaxed moments, and he does that for the total duration of the novel. It's the way he write (even his short stories are written this way, everything is settling nicely, happy everyday life and then BAM ! Right in the feels !).
Remember how it was quiet and relaxed when Rudeus was suddenly sent to Eris family, how he was setting up nicely in his new teacher role when the teleportation event happened, that everybody was quietly traveling when Orsted ripped a new hole in Rudeus chest and wipe the floor with everyone else, that they were happy to reach the end of their journey and come back to the human continent when they discovered Eris' familly execution, how he finally got things okay with his father and his sister and got his first time with Eris then she left him abruptly...
There will always be stuff like that, as the author love this kind of stuff and litteraly write his story around those kind of sudden high impact dramatical effects hitting during quiet times.
And yeah the next one will be a huge one, as the onion ninjas had all the time in the world to sharpen their onion cutting tools until they get razor sharp...
@JakkRo : the big difference between the old isekai and the new ones is that most of the old one were shojo styled and really very close to otome games (girl(s) sent to an isekai with plenty of hunks) using the same type of writing and event style as thoses (for exemple kanata kara was a pretty big one of them at the time).
And the few left were about high or middle schooler sent in a dragon quest type world as the hero or closer to time travel than isekai (they were almost none that went out of those two molds, those who hunt elves being one of those very rare ones). They were nowhere as popular as the two big templates at this time, harem magical schools and high school romcoms...
The first trope to break this was the reincarnated as an otome villainess trope, as some were quite successfull they multiplied in naru and other WN websites but then Mushoku Tensei appeared and got first place everywhere.
The big isekai rush really started in full after that for most WN websites.
Mushoku Tensei wasn't the first isekai but it was the first successfull one of the new isekai trope.
@Scrwd@Spinaple The longer you allow a lie to fester, the harder it is to be honest and reveal it. It would raise the question of why and for what purpose she kept it a secret from Rudeus for this long. I suppose she could get away with by saying she enjoyed too much the situation of Rudeus not recognising her to end it, but considering Rudeus's psychological state, it might even worsen his condition. He's already blaming himself for what happened with Eris, so if now he's made to realise he didn't recognise his most important childhood friend for months despite interacting with her on a daily basis, it might make things even worse for him mentally. Hard to say.
