Spark the Electric Jester - Ultimate Final Boss VS Shachi
Both tracks are pretty blood-pumping and full of excitement. Final Boss comes out on top before it has a more heroic feel and the instruments are slightly more upbeat. The beginning is so good that I was hooked right away, while Shachi took a little longer to become as interesting.
Super Robot Wars V - Forbidden Resistance VS Trails of Cold Steel IV - Burning Throb
Yet another really close match. While I think the Trails of Cold Steel franchise has other better tracks that could have been chosen, this one is not to be looked down on by any means. It's intense and exciting, exactly what I love to hear in my music. But the same can also be said for Forbidden Resistance. The reason why it came out on top just by a very slight margin is the subtle heroic feel starting from around 0:50. Both are something I would definitely love to listen to again and again!
Black Hawk Down - Mogadishu Night Battle VS Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver - Battle! Champion & Red Music
Hm... As much as I love the movie, and I think the track is good, it's nothing very impressive to me. It's one of those "good, but not great" kind of tracks. The Pokemon track came out on top because it's catchier and more memorable to me, and more entertaining to listen to.
Star Conflict - Deathmatch Theme VS Hard Corps: Uprising - Common Boss Theme 1
The Deathmatch track sounds like something I'd hear in a waiting menu or lobby, more than in a battle. Nevertheless, it's still a decent track. I admit the beginning was pretty good, but somehow, from the middle to the end, it became... a little less exciting. As for Common Boss, as expected from a Contra track, it doesn't disappoint. The whole track is intense and blood-pumping from beginning to end. I absolutely love the part at 1:45 and 3:40 when it feels something climatic is happening. The subtle heroic feel certainly helps it become the winner.
