It amazes me how both songs are bad
Kiss Me is just an american style pop song that you would find playing in any radio station, therefore, this one sounds really bland for me
Being specific, its not bad in quality, its bad in terms of anime opening, it doesn't sound like one
And The World is popular as fuck, but I don't see what's so good about it, its just an average song and nothing more
It win just because, unlike Kiss Me, it does sound like an anime OP

Pretty sure this is intentional given the setting, Mars literally looks like a generic American city, and it didn't seem out of place while watching.

Neither should {The World - Death Note Opening}, yet there they are in Top 16. {What's Up, People?!} is the superior Death Note OP.

@comeonnow0 I like them both. What's Up People is a little more on the wacky side, so I prefer The World. To be honest, the two songs it was up against, DevilMan and Crying Rain, were pretty damn good. If it had lost against either one, it would still be a sensible result.
To see songs like Limit Breaker, Shinzou (and next is Cagayake) losing to TellMeWhyImSoSleepyheeheehee and Someone Else losing to Kiss Meeehh, I kinda died inside a little... =_=
