How far is their technology away from a needle gun? Paper cartridges, roughly double the firing rate from a musket (3->6), and probably insane, unaffordable price per unit.

There's also this cool gravity-fed, hand-cranked toy that you can drag around on artillery carriage, which can spit out ~200 rounds per minute, which can be compared to the effort of 66 musketwomen. That oughta be a nice lil' surprise for anyone trying to do a bayonet charge on them.

Also, now that they've got rifles, they can outfit a unit of sharpshooters to pick off officers. You know, those flashily dressed nobles who loiter around, thinking that they couldn't hit an elephant at this distance.

Why say "be killed" and used "brigade commander"? I feel like that should be explained, but maybe manga monologue box slow the story down the reading pace too much? Hmm, feels like it should still be explained though. Right now, the manga implied some motives behind his action, but the motives aren't mentioned for no good reason.

They need Pauly guns before the pseudo-Dreyses appear. That and fulminates.
Puckle guns are more likely than those guns that spit out 200 rounds per minute.

Are these rifles or muskets? If they are rifles reloading 3x per minute then they already have Minnie balls. If muskets this looks like Napoleonic era roughly and corresponds with uniforms looks and tactics, e.g. form square.

Also, you can use your own saliva as lubricant.
Also, I've heard that when survival is threatened, living beings are biologically driven to prioritize reproduction to ensure the continuation of the species.
Also, some of those people probably prefer powerless or even "unmoving" partner because it gives them sense of dominance.

In any kind of war, “that sort of thing” is bound to happen eventually. I like how he reminds them just how cruel humans can be to one another—especially toward those they see as weaker than themselves.

Good thing is, this manga doesn’t have a sexual violence tag, though I think we’re all mature enough to understand the kinds of horrible things that can happen during war or on a battlefield.
