He's an interesting mix throughout the series. If he was following the game script he would continue to do evil of course this might be his last life so we just want to die again all of a sudden.

He wanted to remove the force my daughter to marry the prince to raise favorability. As protagonist in the game he's handsome and sees them as destined partners so he figure she will want him, at the same time her favorability for father continues to rise with each day.

He does accept change in the script story but tries to play it smart taking advantage of future info
