I can't remember what the story is so far. Had to skim the earlier chapters.

I think I might drop this because the story drags on without any more good points. I mean it started getting boring when all those people showed up and Chris is beyond annoying. I mean come on, all I want is to see Eliana and Greed fall in love and be lovey dovey BUT THERE IS NO DEVELOPMENT IN THERE RELATIONSHIP!!

At least Jill is still Best Girl tho Sherry is a strong newcomer for the title

@AaniK I did read your whole post and it isnt per se wrong, but thesess flaws you think I have, let me explain for you:

First we have the situation with further charging ahead. If she now charges without vigilance or anything thn yes, it would be dumb or a bad ecision. BUT she absolutely needs to confirm the position of the Threnvale Kingdom. Normally if the command comes from the king, you will get a royal seal and you NEED to show it when you make that decision, especially to the opponent, and then you declare war. Everything else is a breach of diplomatic customs, with makes you a great target for complains from other countries, what can lead at worst to a breakdown or at least really big problems of diplomatic relationships. Because no other country can know if they do it to them too. Distrust is always a case for such kingdoms, but thats why they give them their daughters for political marriage. But if you do something like that the distrust would grow too big.

Another point you mentioned is that other counries could help. To that point: they dont have a single diplomatic relationship or even trade relationship with all these countries, but with the MC coming from Threnvale and beeing from a noble family there is a point. In other words the highest chance is Threnvale. If they reject them in a normal political way it would be more than unlikely that other countries would help. Except they get something great, which they can give them to make that help worthwhile. Where they only have Greeds power, which would mean that the helping country would just use Greeds power for their own ambitions AND if things go south they can say it was all them and they got coerced.

Now we move on to the situation with putting Greed there to force the others into negotations. The moment that happens it doesnt matter in this situation, which form of deal they get out of it. For all others it would only end up that they threathened them into it. Even if they claim the point of this attack at the border, they dont have witnessess which makes it easy for Threnvale to just deny it. If they reject them at the capital (and many spys, merchants and so on will bring the happenings and information to other kingdoms), then Threnvale cant claim they never tried to negotiate peacefully.

Even if it is logical that they would just be vigilant against Greed if they do as you say, but you underestimate the fear an (in that way) active Dragon King installs within the humans. This new kingdom is an upstart which started after Greed more or less conquered it and after that he threathened Threnvale into helping etc. They would naturally assume that there is more behind the things they show in public.
This fear would rather fast unite the other countries against them beyond just mere vigilance. For example I give you youjo senki, where the empire hat a similar situation. Why did everyone band together against them? Was truly the Empire in the wrong?

But the big difference between both is something rather basic: Greeds Kingdom (again) doesnt have any relationships with other countries, which takes that approach from them, because they cant negotiate beforehand that no other countries get harmed. There are most likely enough other kingdoms who dont like (or absolutely dont trust) that Greed is forming his own Kingdom and will still see it as a form of upstart. This pride and elitism together with your approach are a really bad situation for long term political ties.

Your scenario would work for short time, but in long term it would make things worse. Because the other countries wouldnt wait several years to let Greeds Kingdom gain enough power again, but would unite and try to do something while they can. Because even if the fear a Dragonking installs is great, that would end up pushing the worries and fear of others too far, which would made them ignoring that fear and trying to do something in the militaristic way. They would prepare beforehand, but they would try. We dont even know if another Dragon King could be swayed or appear, which is another uncertainity, which only Greed could answer (and that wouldnt normally be 100% sure), but not our MC.

Now tell me where is the flaws you say they were? Militaristic power doesnt need to be used, just merely showing it off in such a way could have really bad repercussions.

Well this guy isnt wrong but a court magician shouldn't have the authority to determine diplomatic relations.

Ok this is getting out of hand so let me put a few things into perspective.
First off you gotta remember that most of threnvale, king included, believe that the 7 true dragons like greed are a myth, the "dragon's bride" is believed to be a method of getting rid of unwanted/unneeded daughters while also getting political clout for their families, considering eliana's father only saw her as a tool for his advancement, this is worth keeping in mind for future events.

Now on to current topics.
Since greed "doesn't exist" in threnvale's eyes, "king greed" is probably viewed as a military commander who attacked the weakened adelmite and conquered it in their eyes.

Now let's look at threnvale.
The head magician attacked them in adelmite territory, not threnvale, as well as illegally crossed the border into adelmite, basically counting at best as a breach of border or at worse a invading force.
Firing into another country's territory is considered a act of war.
Yes the dragon might be "scary", but you cannot under any treatise attack anyone outside of your borders, this is the reason why police cannot chase criminals across county/state lines even inside nation-states, jurisdiction matters.
With this in mind, having a powerful part of your military stationed on a weakened countries border, ordered to capture any who try to cross, to me it looks like threnvale is seeing adelmite as weakened and preparing to attack it, seeing eliana and chris as possible bargaining chips in conquest.

@Dragou So I really want to get into a long ass debate with you about this but I can't right now so I'll try to keep this short.

See your first paragraph shows you didn't understand what I was trying to say in my previous comment. You literally agreed with my points in your first sentence then went on to try and start an argument on something completely stupid. "Needs to confirm"? I agree, she does need to confirm it but what would the point of the confirmation be if she lost her life? That's what she's endangering by charging straight in like that. And that stuff about needing to show the royal seal when making a decision? That doesn't actually happen in moments of battle. They don't go "Oh here, my king says to attack you" and then proceed to defend against what seems to be an invasion force, they just jump straight into defence mode. In this case their party of 4 (including the dragon) looks as if they are coming to attack not to just have an audience so they would be completely justified in just going straight into defence/attack mode. We, as readers, know that the new head magician is doing this out of hostility but none of the characters know that except him so his actions are justified and should have warned the party to back the fuck off and be more cautious not jump right in.

Now the thing about other countries not having ties to Greed's country? Well Threnvale doesn't either. In fact, if I remember right, weren't they the ones to attack it or something? (Not 100% sure, it's been a while). But either way, the only reason they chose to go to Threnvale for help was because of fl's connection to them. They could just as easily have appealed to any other country. Seeing how Threnvale basically sacrificed her, they're not very attached to her and might deal with her just as any other ambassador (then again this is a manga maybe they'll welcome her back with open arms) so she'll have the same chance of getting help from any other place.

Now about the military scare tactic, you're right, I might have been a bit extreme. However, the point I'm trying to make is that going in like that, even with the nymph and mini-dragon, leaves her in quite a dangerous situation. She should have retreated and sent a messenger first or gathered a small elite group to back her up (an entourage, all ambassadors bring one). These would have been the right way, not just barging in like that. Think about it, two random girls on the back of a dragon land in your palace gardens, what are you gonna do? Obviously you're gonna assume they're hostile and start attacking them. The whole "fear" thing you mentioned comes into play here as well. Fear is one of the major driving forces behind human behaviour and a lot of the time humans refuse to listen to logic when faced with fear so this could turn out really bad for her but she's banking on the family that sacrificed her to come to her rescue. @Tasuya-Kai has some good points to about this as well.

Sorry if I didn't address some of your points but like I said, can't right now. Also you should know that there's rarely ever a right and wrong in politics. Anything can be right or wrong depending on who tells the story so there's no point arguing about the correct way to proceed because there are many, I'm saying that jumping straight in like that was definitely a bad move but will probably work out because its a manga.

Chris was the head magician. This other guy wasn't. If Chris lost to him in spite of that, it would be a huge joke. How could Chris be so incompetent as to fail to notice a magic trap when magic is his speciality? I don't buy it. Either poor writing or a fake-out.

probably a fakeout but if not,
u introduced a supposedly fancy rival for this? this is how you off him, really?

I mean he's basically been an indefatigable blight and a veritable cockroach so far; I presume he'll be fine. I just hope we don't spend more time dwelling on him. Time spent on him is time not spent resolving this politics shtick, and time spent on this foreign policy arc is time not spent having lovey-dovey dragon moments, which is what I am here for.

Didn't he say he wanted to become a doctor? Is he perhaps regretting the fact that he abandoned his chance to become a president?

The country was so fked up there was no royal seal or something? She a queen of a country. That said, acknowledgement from the surrounding countries would be important to establish rightful sovereignty. Should have greed do a trip around in dragon form and visit certain countries to declare it.
