Okay she couldn’t possibly have been married off in historical Japan AND be that innocent. Doesn’t she have a little sister? I feel like they taught prospective wives (and husbands) how children are made (otherwise there would be no births)
@Sicknasty I mean likewise don’t attack someone just for having “feelings” of jealousy. Contrary to popular belief we cannot control how we feel. We can control how we react to our feelings and what we think about them (we may also have feelings about our feelings we can’t control; it’s pointlessly complicated and annoying and honestly emotions are overrated if you ask me). But we can only ever act after the fact (feeling) we can’t control our emotions themselves. He loves her and wants to monopolize her, so he feels jealous at the thought of someone else having had sex with her. He isn’t devaluing her as a partner or a person or saying that her virginity makes him want her more (actually it’s quite the opposite), but that he WANTS the honor of being the first person she’s been with. Again that’s nothing he can control. We often don’t pick and choose our wants we just feel them or have them. It’s how we act on the ones that may be harmful to others that determines who we are, and here he DOES stop himself from acting on his impulses and realizes that his thoughts if jealousy would not be fair to her. That’s the most we could ever ask of any human being. Your essentially insulting him for something no one can control. And this is how jealousy actually is. Its nothing any of us what to happen (over anything or one), but it just does. We should NEVER judge people on their thoughts or feelings; their actions and behavior sure, but what you’re calling disgusting (“ew”) is one a whole another path of wrong. That direction of thinking is basically the core principle of every dystopian novel ever.
