it's actually Andrich, seems to be the convention for transliterating the German "ich", since it's closer to an h sound. Look up the wikipedia page for Friedrich Nietzsche in japanese. You'll see his name transliterated as フリードリヒ (furiidorihi)

We also found an issue in deciding Cry's last name because of what you all have said. In official sources, his last name is Andrey, his transliteral name would be Andrich, and the previous scanlator translated it as Andolihy.

At this point, we faced the dilemma of which name to choose, and ultimately chose Andolihy for two reasons. The first is consistency for the previous translator's work which set the precedent of Andolihy. The second reason (while not being a particularly strong reason) is because of how different the names sound as what it is pronounced as with アンドリヒ is pronounced as Andorihi.

We aren't fully satisfied with our decision but at this point, we have to accept that his last name is definitely And-something.

...even with all the effort I put in to show that it is "malice", not "maris", I'll not be surprised that the old translation group just ran with that transliteration.

Same shit happened with O'Brian in Coiling Dragon. His name is transliterated as [奥布莱恩], which is then "translated" as the exotic-sounding "Ao'bu'lai'en" by translators who thought that it was better to rewrite the original with their own preferences than just translate the thing especially when throwing that into google gives you many different O'Briens/O'Brians).
