That's not how you deal with the egoistical type. You have to convince them that they make the intended decision themselves. In this case just fake being defeated, "Woes is me, what am I gonna do if Ark get that relic?!". Then just leave it to Mr. Ikemen to handle her.

The thing is… He did say that he doesn't need it but that he wants it. However, because he is confusing that flesh mask with another one, he's being vague about its power by calling it dangerous. His original flesh mask is prohibited from being used by law because it could change people's appearance (limited to the face only though) and thus be used for things like scams and impersonations.

And what is happening is that everyone is reading his "the mask is dangerous" part as "the mask is powerful", which is not what he said. And that's the thing in this series, Cry can be as honest as he wants to be, which unironically is what he always does, and people still manage to overthink his words, because of his position and title, which everyone else thinks he's playing 2 or 3 steps ahead of them, so they try to counter him by playing 4 or 5 steps ahead of him, but Cry is actually playing UNO and losing, but the other party manages to self destruct itself and ends up granting the victory to Cry

I read this as he came here to placate her and she just took offense at everything that Krai said. Had he said she looked nice today, she probably would have asked if he was implying that she hadn't looked nice yesterday. She was spoiling for a fight. Even her guards seemed overtly hostile. Like you just sealed the guy's magic, you know he's unarmed, and you still will threaten to cut him down?

to be fair. Arc is like her Hero and idol. it makes sense she feel like he's worth more than Anything. and above all, Cry who everyone think is Arc rival (including herself though she refuses to accept him "stronger than Arc" due the level difference) say he didn't even considering Arc as his rival. it like saying "he ain't even worth my time, the answer is clear anyway." while in her eyes and everyone they thought Cry saying he's way powerful to considering Arc as his opponent. it like ultimate insult to her Hero figure
