Well,

I appreciate you committing to finishing your translation of the series.

Honestly disappointed with how it all "resolved"--in that it didn't, at all. Vice Prez got off entirely due to the kouhai of the group seeking "group harmony" over anything actually substantive, and Kageyama and Asahi are just not talking about what happened whatsoever.

Can't say I'm impressed with the author's decisions these last several chapters, but.

Maybe I'm just not the target audience for this particular title.
Japan is all about group harmony

Fuck glasses lady. She’s completely garbage and jealous of the attention the student council president is giving our boy. Her sabotage went so far that she literally locked two people in a room with no way to get out or call for help, endangering them for no fucking reason. If a medical emergency had happened, they would've been screwed. What makes it so bad is that everyone just forgives her ass afterward. Like, come the fuck on. I know this is fictional, but man, the writing here just ain't it.

OMG OMG OMG, she actually did it! :kreygasm::meguupog: Asahi-chan, you better hurry up, or you’re going to become the losing heroine. But sadly, Maezono is probably going to be the losing heroine here. Looks like the short-hair curse finally gets broken in this manga

thank you for translation
Honestly I just don’t see what kind of connection the two could make in like 6 chapters to justify last chapter let alone make me believe in Asashi’s relationship with Kageyama.

And that’s depressing knowing how this’ll probably all end, but… maybe the author can actually make one good decision in the next few chapters…

God dammit, I know "forgiveness" and "group harmony" seen as the "morally superior option" but let the characters be petty everynow and then and hold grudges.

I am all for childhood friends and getting even with brats, but FFS he has infinitely better chemistry with Prez than dumbdumb Asahi.

Asahi also would be better served finding someone who actually treats her well, and whom she isn't crushing on simply because he was sometimes kind to her over the span of time they'd known one another since childhood.

Neither of them really gel. Sadly Asahi is awkward and prickly and Kageyama is the only one who she can really call a "friend", even if she's friendly with the others in the Club & with Prez. So she gravitates toward him, while being unable to be honest (because tsundere archetype). But he's not really kind to her...he's just honest(if not blunt) with her. And we saw in chapter 20 how that isn't always a good thing.

And now we have 6 chapters to not only effectively get from 'the starting line' where Kageyama is concerned, but to undo the damage from what they did to one another previous chapter. ...And I'm not really convinced it can be done well, to the point I wonder if 28 chapters is a "forced ending point" by the editor/publisher or something.

Manga ends with ch 28.... Fvck, this was basicly the only romcom from recent years that wasn't a complete slop.
Please define "recent years" and "slop"... and maybe "rom-com" as well.
Because I can think of a few (just on the top of my head) recent and ongoing titles with better (in my humble opinion) storytelling than this and more fluffy/wholesome/satisfying romance

I know that these crappy el classico lesbiano is introduced as a major factor of development in these kind of stories. But damn, this has to be the most stupidest and annoying way to introduce and throwaway a perfectly annoying character to not only improve on the main and the sub heroine's affection over the MC. Let her become the most hated character by the community or let her fall into ruin, what the hell? A normal locked interaction would progress much smoother than this weak ass asspull introduction.

Slop is different characters acting out the same tropes without any meaningful plot besides it. Examples are Dangers in my heart, Angel Next Door, Second Cutest Girl in My Class, You and I Are Polar Opposites. You are smart, I hope you get it.

They are literally childhood friends and you are asking for a 'connection'?

you mean slop is just another stupid word thats gets spammed by people like you online who has nothing else relevant to say

anything you dont like is now automatically 'slop' meanwhile browsing tiktoks all day.

Don't expect too much from me 😶

Of these four, I only know two. I can somewhat agree on "the dangers in my heart" being tropey, but it also has more depth than most rom-coms (emphasis on com) set in middle school. I don't remember much about "polar opposites", since it ended a while ago, but I remember enjoying it.
If you want more depth/variety, you could try "the fragrant flower blooms with dignity", or "blue box".
If you want more comedy than romance, "they are still shaken this morning" might be a good read.
I'll stop with my suggestions, since while I have more stories that I rank higher than this bratty duo's, they're not necessarily less tropey or with a richer plot. Or recent.

If thats enough of a connection for you thats fine.

Personally though I find “Childhood Friend” as the laziest excuse for characters having a connection let alone romantic connection to each other.

Honestly, this girl deserves to win more than the childhood friend. She at least got the courage to confess and be honest instead of just bitching to MC.
