Wait one damn minute. I'm glad the MC caught that because I sure as shit didn't even think about it. Its a good point I hope we get an answer to. Not to mention the apparent panic the creature has when he questioned this.

I wonder if the concern wasn't with it being a dangerous monster... But instead with its parents being dangerous monsters.
The moment she started freaking out, I figured this was the most likely reason. She's probably encountered their species before in not so cute and cuddly form. Or just understands the risk involved in bringing back the young of what appears to be a predatory species.

Thirteen chapters in and the premise is still holding up and keeping things fresh. Very interesting seeing the issues caused by language barrier in a fantasy world. Hard to decipher myaa's reaction here without knowing what exactly she was panicking over. Hard to talk it out, so just take her stick away and give her the fluffy. Then hope she doesn't try to break its neck anyway lol

Glad he had the sense to be freaked out it understood Japanese. Still way to cute for that to be enough to fry the poor thing.

”It might be cute now, but when it will grow up…”
to me, her reaction felt like a parent that see their kid bring back home a baby alligator or bear. XD

Isn't distance somewhat easy? Get a long wide pole/stick with set height and markings, place it at set distance and measure its height from your position, now when you place it somewhere you'll know how far it is once it reads the same from your position. After that the rest should be rather easy instead of doing it step by step and you won't have to worry much about obstacles/hills either. I assume there's formulas you could use too(?), but that's probably the most basic way to do it?

Yeah, but the MC wanted to do that just by counting steps. Which he realized wouldn’t be that simple.

So I’m guessing the main theory here is that because of the protagonist's amnesia, he forgot the little dragon was his companion.

This would also mean our protagonist has actually been living in this world much longer than he thinks.

Big fan of the MC, upon finding the horned griphon understands Japanese, goes "OK YEAH NO THAT'S WRONG, WHAT THE FUCK"

I know that the title is "Nothing can be Understood", but the gimmick is starting to wear a little thin....

That's an interesting theory; I was hoping for telepathy and that it would help him learning the language...
