Maybe it's a digital/biological assistant created by whoever colonized that planet(Mars?) who has been in hibernation until recently, then it would make sense it would understand the creators language and but not the current one?
It was speaking in a weird language inside of the dream if that's really the same creature... That was definitely not English... Does that mean it learned Japanese since then? Or maybe it's telepathic? But it doesn't understand the villagers...
If the answer to "did I lose my memory for some kind of reason" is "no," doesn't that sort of make it sound like he didn't actually lose any memories? This chapter may be about answering questions, but at the same time it definitely is a bit difficult to interpret.
Honestly, the impression I'm getting is that the "no response" questions are probably the ones that are best to focus on right now. I'm especially interested in its answer to the question of "are you aware of a country called Japan." Because while for other questions the lack of answer could be interpreted as not understanding what the question was asking about, (as is confirmed for the game world question) if that's what's going on here, then why couldn't it just answer no? After all, the question was "do you understand what I'm talking about?"
So I guess the answer here is probably something a bit more complicated than "yes" or "no" for the question of whether or not the "tyuoion" knows what Japan is. So if that's the case, what's so complicated about the answer? Maybe it knows a Japan but it doesn't know Ryouta's Japan? In which case, would this be an alternate universe? But then, if it knows that he's talking about a different Japan, doesn't that mean that it does know of his Japan, and should have just answered "yes?" So that theory doesn't really work.
But are there any theories that can properly reconcile both halves of "can't say it knows what Japan is" and "can't say it doesn't know what Japan is" without also being another sort of "not exactly..." that requires it to know what he's talking about in the first place? (Which would lead to an answer of "yes?") I honestly can't think of any right now. It's an interesting puzzle.
The dragon isn't Japanese? Hm... it turned its eyes sideways when it was asked if it was a Japanese person, I think it's not being honest about that one.
if the dragon understands Japanese but isnt from Earth and didnt summon there has to be some alt Earth shenanigans or post apocalypse scenario?
The bread is definitely sus, such fluffy perfect bread definitely needs good fine flour and leavening agents, stuff thats prolly hard to get in the Aussie outback lol
The bread isn't fluffy or perfect. In chapter 7 cutting it makes a rough sawing sound, and when Ryouta tried eating it without dipping it in the soup he found it aromatic but hard and tasteless.

This chapter marks the third time we've seen "tejunufu." I wonder what it means.
Three times in wildly different contexts is hardly enough for a valid conclusion, but if I were to randomly guess, it is probably a verb. "tejunufu" has only appeared at or near the end sentences, after all, and everything points towards Myaasanese being a subject-object-verb language.
A shot in the dark: perhaps "tejunufu" means "to do/make?" This is a frequently-occurring verb, explaining why the word has occurred relatively often already in the manga. It also fits the three contexts: to gain (make) an understanding, to do something, and to make food. However, the second occurrence of "to do something" is weird because Miyamutuu likely conveys the idea of "do" in a previous sentence without saying "tejunufu" – "yai sui jaa sui juju taa?" – which breaks this entire theory. I guess I'll have to wait for more information...
Language analysis aside; this chapter revealed lore about the world. The tyuoion claims to be showing up in Ryōta's dreams, and hesitates when asked if it understands Ryōta's language. Thus, it probably has more of psychic-based ability than a comprehension ability.
Moreover, we finally got confirmation on something we all suspected: there are probably other cultures that trade in this world. This is huge.
This shit rules, it's video game starting area tropes but inverted. Everywhere there would be exposition or a tutorial it's just another thing that also has no idea what the hell's going on and/or can't provide any information. Dragon Kid should normally be telling Ryouta about his grand destiny and instead it's just crying into its soup.
I skimmed back through the series and didn't see any other mentions of dreams, guess we'll get more on that next chapter (or I missed something).

Probably a connection to what Ryuuta currently is? With his capabilities he's not exactly a Human anymore, unless it's just a unique expression of magic.
Some of his questions aren't exactly precise enough and either lack common ground understanding or are wildly assumed and thus not getting clear answers.
Maybe he'll have another QnA when he gets free time or during his longer ventures. 'No' and 'unsure' answers don't really give as much info as a definite 'yes'. Even an unsure yes could be expanded upon.
This creature is the only one that understands him almost completely too, so I do hope he talks with it more. Though there might be gaps in translation between them too.

Perhaps we're approaching this the wrong way? He doesn't speak, but does he draw/write? Give him a small sandplot and a thin stick and see what comes out...
Maybe the "no answer" for Earth and Japan is something like :
I do know those thing exist thanks to either the connection (possibly psychic) that we have or the connection with the thing that made you. but I do not know more than it's existence.
Either way, peak chapter as always.
And thanks to the detarameMangadex for doing a Myaa corner
