Thanks for picking this up. I've seen far worse, so rest assured, you didn't do badly. The only thing I can point out is with the context of the countdown, it seems it was 15 "seconds", not "minutes".

Given the context, I assume that's supposed to be 15 seconds rather than minutes.

weird choice for the author in this chapter. so far, anyone with the slightest intention and effort put into it by some merciful individual to save their life, got saved.
and yet, the gaslighted victim of the evil antagonist who got spared by the main character got viciously mauled instead of rescued?
even the dragon who was condemned to death by nacht herself during the demon fight arc just survived like that. and a much smaller power cant be repelled?
a bit weird.
Kiria got Nina Tucker'd. She/he was dying anyway because their soul couldn't handle the merge, so the Priestess pulled a Scar and mercy killed them.

It's been a few months, and reading this chapter really confused me. I was sure I had read much further, up to the conclusion of this arc. Turns out that was a memory from the light novel. Welp.

You mentioned 'so far' like she's saved many, but I can only think of two: the sword guy at the beginning and the demon girl. And honestly, those two aren't even worth mentioning. They had nothing to do with Nacht in the first place. She had no reason to kill them, so there was no value in doing so. Letting them go was simply neutral, not some act of mercy.

The very nature of Nacht is that she's an erratic, impulsive person. She doesn’t give a fuck and only acts in her own interest. That’s why she remained so calm even when Tina was beaten to death. If not for the guilt she felt for indirectly interfering with Tina’s assassination mission, I’d wager she would’ve just left the orphanage and gone on a food stall rampage to distract herself from her misery. Probably.

As for why she couldn’t save him, it’s because she’s a soul dragon. It was clear to her that Kiria had died. His soul was gone. You could see how furious she was at the desecration of the dead in chapter 22. There’s no way she’d commit that kind of blasphemy herself.

Why didn’t she save him earlier, you ask? Because she didn’t give a fuck. Tina wanted to fight. Kiria lost. That’s all there is to it.

Thanks for the translation, and I hope you pick the series up long-term! This was quite good for a first effort.

should probly maintain some of the previous TLs romanizations, like Sindria as opposed to Tsundoria
