People seems to keep forgetting the elephant in the room: she's an IDOL, people. And that's important.

Idols cannot be seen with any male, period. It would be a veritable scandal in the vein of "if the male in question is her BF" and whatnot, and that CAN and DID end idols' careers in the past. Idol fans be weird and extremely possessive, guys.

What happened here? That the idol FMC was seen in an affectionate state (The horror!) with the male MC and the rumor spread like wildfire in the school, probably even further at this point. This is very serious, so he makes the decision of separating for the sake of her career. A bad move, maybe, but can see why.

Then comes this chapter. This is for the sake of her having more friends while at the same time diluting the importance of the MC, because having several male friends alongside female friends (specially if one of the girls is a groupmate) is one thing, but having only one male friend is a threat in her fans eyes. Yeah, I don't fully get it either but it happens IRL as well, so there's some basis. Of course, the plan itself was horrible and fell apart, but kudos for trying.

Calm down y'all, course she's trying to forget about him. She basically thought they were IRL dating and then all of a sudden he ghosted her, completely cut her out of his life without the slightest explanation why.
This reaction was always an expected part of this story's progression.

The problem is that the MC also cutting communications with her inside the game, which absolutely doesn't make any sense at all, because:
  1. They're using avatars and nicknames, which hides their real life identities
  2. They can talk/chat freely without getting afraid of anyone would know or hear it, since they can talk/chat in private
Like, you can't possibly know someone's true identity when playing a game, unless you either know them from other source, you're a hacker, or you're one of the game staffs, where you can check the ID's credentials.

Besides, this whole unnecessary drama only happened in the manga (and Light Novel? CMIIW), and the web novel doesn't have it.

In the web novel, The MC and his 2 male friends warned him about the whole idol IRL thing, and the MC agrees not to get close when they're at school, since that could attract unwanted attention.

But the difference is that he STILL talking and playing together with her inside the game, instead of completely cutting her ties in both IRL and game like what happened in the manga, which is absolutely dumb due to the reasonings that I mentioned previously.

So yeah, the author purposedly shoved this drama, because he prolly wanted to adds more "spice" to the story, and also to prolong the early chapters by a degree, hence the sub-par quality writings.

Not even read the chapter. I just saw the last page and was like "ahh yeah, more of this shit is coming". I wonder how stupid it has to turn out for this to get canceled?

Wait so it has a light novel with this shit included? Damn, alright. Gotta stay away from it then.

Also yes it doesn't make any sense to cut her off, at least he could tell her what's the issue here and only communicate in the game not in rl.

It might not be author's fault for this stuff. It could be the LN's editor poking the author to add more drama to it while author has no experience in writing high schoolkids drama to begin with. So he added, by accident, pre-school kids drama. The end.
That'd be actually pretty sad if true because the readers got robbed of an interesting series.

Ok. They're done. Time to pack up, we're going home.

Usually, relationships with famous people like her will get publicized sooner or later, and things won't definitely get better in that regard. So if they're just going to hide it now, it'll just cause more issues with people trying to dig on the matter. They were doing fine as a couple in game, but they had to do more than that, so now they're in this mess.

Whoever the editor is, I want them fired for shoehorning this stupid pre school drama now the story has gotten so stupid.

The author could have made the MC ballsy and it would have gone so hard but the writing killed it. A few more chapters before dropping ig

This stupid fucking arc needs to end. It is just forced melodrama. It's a shame, because the beginning of this manga was S-tier, but the current stuff is C-tier at best.

The problem is he didn't talk to her about the issue. If he did, all of this could have been avoided after they decided how to deal with it together. Even regular dumbass teenagers would know to talk to someone about this instead of just doing what they thought was best. If he was afraid to be seen talking to her in public, then he could of talked to her in game. If he couldn't do that her fellow Idol could of explained things to her.

That is what everyones problem is with the way this is going.
