Sometimes I wonder if certain authors understand that the actions of their human characters are meant to be vaguely based on actual human behavior.
Those authors clearly show they don't have any human experiences to draw from, so to expect them to portray human behavior accurately is a huge stretch. Even if they do, there's no commercial incentive to portray it accurately.

This author in particular clearly is self-aware enough to satirize ntr, but if you look at his other works, he handles women's trauma in a very unrealistic tropey way to the benefit of the target audience.

that and the typical japanese habit of not reporting sexual harassment/assault or even attempted rape cause it's "embarassing."
wish this crap wouldn't seep into manga tbh
Plenty of women (and men) from all over the world don't report sexual assault or rape because they're afraid and don't want to re-traumatize themselves for an uncertain result. I'm not going to defend the way this manga depicted sexual assault because it is obviously mostly designed to let the self-insert protag have a hero moment, but this part isn't unrealistic.
