I too thought it was rather lacking. But at the same time, Nezumi's been tied up and being taken back to Korea now... I think it's a week to get our breath back

This is going to be long-winded, but I'll try to summarize. Buta (Fatman) is a pedophile and was an accomplice with the Bearded Man at some point before he was in a coma. Prior to his coma, the Bearded Man was his contact to get children sent to him. When Nezumi and Buta were ambushed at the library, the Bearded Man used the ambush to meet with Buta, but Buta doesn't remember him. So instead, he asks Buta to go with the Bearded Man and gives him contact information so they can make plans.

With all this in mind, Buta is currently in a precarious spot. Although he doesn't remember, the Yakuza are holding him hostage so that information doesn't leak; they keep an eye on him 24/7. To get out, Buta agrees to go with the Bearded Man, but in return, he wants Nezumi to go with him as he "loves" her. So the boat incident was a plan to seclude Nezumi and get as far as possible from the Yakuza at the same time.

The Bearded Man also knows the burned-skin kid, Peter, and sets him to keep an eye on Ao. Peter loves Nezumi, though, and only wants to see her be happy. So he plans with Ao and the Doctor to keep Ao from being murdered by this Nameless group so that Nezumi and Ao can stay together. What this plan is, is anyone's guess.

As for Ruri, there isn't much information, as there are some hints dropped here and there, so it's left up to interpretation until more deliberate information comes out. Ruri knows that Buta has done terrible things but protects him by deleting photos of his acts. She also knows that Nezumi was the one who tried to murder Buta, because you can see Nezumi is in one of the photos. When she saw Buta in a coma, she was bleeding from underneath her dress, which more than likely means she had a miscarriage due to the trauma. This might be a reason for her hate, as Nezumi is also a reason Buta is in hot water to begin with.

I could be wrong on some things or missing details, so if anyone wants to correct me, by all means.

Tbh same. I don’t get why the comments are the way they are on this story. If you don’t like it, don’t read. The lack of sympathy for Nezumi is odd.
