The kiss was sweet and all, but I can't help but feel like it's out of place?
Like, who gives a kiss - their first kiss - to someone who not even a minute ago opened up about his family dying and being betrayed by some nondescript rat bastard?

I know it'll be a positive thing in the manga, but realistically the kiss was definitely not appropriate at such a time.

I feel like she really really wanted to do something for the mc and it was also something she herself had wanted to do and kinda used the moment for it when it wasn't appropriate, but for a kid, it kinda makes sense. Like it's already a lot going on with puberty hormones and shifts and then this guy pops up and is so nice to you and you wanna care and protect him. Sometimes it just be like that

No meme page this time. tbh I have little sisters myself and this chapter made me sad af imagining something like this happening to them. They were actually in a car accident earlier this month while I was at work. The car got totaled, but thankfully they made it out with just scars. But the thought that I could've been in the same shoes as Satou just a couple weeks ago is honestly crazy. Like, actually. But it's not good for me to dwell on it. So uh anyways happy holidays!

Totally valid reason. I think everybody felt something while reading Satou's story.
