to be fair i dont think he ever really needed funds, and i also think he has realized that poofing a castle out of existence would put a target on the kingdom so i think that was the point of his little speech about not being on the side of justice.

Theres also the consideration that his demon avatar thing said the void would do whatever he wants it to, yet mc was shocked at his power. I'd say its more likely that the demon's doing his thing, but the author probably didn't think that far
