Hi everyone reading this comment forum right now, I’m just curious and want to ask, what the hell do people expect from this manga anymore?

I mean, I have my opinions about what the manga characters should do but mainly I'm just here for entertainment.

Besides, characters making choices we disagree with (or, in milder cases, don't entirely agree with) is kind of the backbone of storytelling. If every character did exactly what you would do in the same situation, it wouldn't make a very interesting story for you to read. So, I go into this with the expectation that I'm going to disagree with at least a handful of things that various characters do. I'll still complain about it, but that doesn't mean I'm not enjoying the manga or about to drop it.

Despite being a setup with working adults, this pretty much just follows the formula of a high school romcom where nothing really happens until maybe the last 5 chapters or so.

So you pretty much read it to watch Noa being cute/funny/sexy, and if you don't think her outbursts are funny or endearing, there's not much for you to enjoy really, besides some teasing once in a while that something might happen (but deep inside knowing that probably nothing will happen).

Most young adult animanga romantic comedies are essentially your "notice me senpai" and "not that I love you" boys and girls dressed in office clothes and drinking sake in bars.

It’s just beating the hell around the bush about romance and a whiny Noa who doesn’t bother changing and it’s almost been 100 chapters with no one growing in the story except Rhihito. Are people expecting them to get together? Is that even the mangaka’s goal? From the general perception of other comments i think people are vehemently against Noa getting together with Rhihito because he doesn’t deserve a whiny bitch on his ass 24/7 7 days a week, but then what’s the point of this manga anymore if progress doesn’t exist?

I’m probably reading too much into it and it’s just slice of life lmao. Also maybe handholding counts as progress. As long as they do it. And the mangaka censors it of course

In any story you are supossed to enjoy the ride and hope for a satisfying conclusion, and people hate the "are we there yet" children no matter what context

Now, be fair, he already has the whiny bitch on his ass 24/7 7 days a week. If he gets to bone her, too, that absolutely would be progress.

Seriously though, there's a lot of backsliding, but that seems in tune with what it's like to have severe mental health issues. You don't just "get better". It also helps that Noa is like this while she is a functional, even highly competent working adult, so clearly she is doing her best to not be a burden to others. So long as she shows no sign of actual malice, and Rihito continues to display angelic patience, it's worth sticking around to see if maybe she can slowly heal over time. Healing from severe mental health problems often looks like getting worse. The first feelings that return tend to be the negative, painful ones, much like recovering from frostbite.

Another thing to consider - Noa desperately wishes she wasn't like this. She was trying to do everything right when it came to relationships, not just her working life. She carries a lot of trauma in that field that isn't entirely self-inflicted. Who knows what sort of environment she grew up in? (Have we met her parents? Don't remember at the moment.) We know what Rihito had to endure, and you have to admit: going from Reni as company to Noa is an upgrade in every way imaginable.
