How did you guys get here before me tf
You're too slow....

It feels like there's a chapter missing between this and 16. Because we still don't know if Rihito got his Switch back.
You do realize that's not a significant plot point. He could get it back off screen or it could be a future plot point the author comes back too...

We just had a whole chapter dedicated solely to the MC trying to get his Switch back, yet you call it insignificant for the plot. Besides, he's a gamer, so of course it's important for him as a character as well.

Yes, one single chapter... for a slice of life where most of the chapters are episodic and have very little connection.

This entire manga isn't a single story but a collection of a lot of little stories...
____________
You need to understand that series are often divided into 2 paths
  • Episodic, which is a bunch of little stories that have canonical value with each other (it could have an option over arching plot - Example would be Nisekoi, Hayate the Combat Butler, D-Frag)
  • Progressive, where the entire series is one big story (it can have a few episodic chapters in it and it's sometimes divided by arcs -Examples would be Naruto, One Piece, Bleach)
And this series is obvious the episodic type... while everything is canon, it's not connected into one big story. It's just a bunch of individual events.

Lotta yapping to explain away why we didn't get to see him get his switch back. Your formatting looks impressive but the grammer still gets a B- at best.

This isn't as strictly episodic as you suggest. You could say this Switch escapade spanned several chapters. It started with Rihito helping Noa unpack her stuff after she moved (a while ago). In the process it was revealed he dislikes messiness. So, she took care to make her place very clean now, specifically in order to invite him over. He did visit and even spent the night there (playing games). So, for Rihito to even be able to leave his Switch at Noa's place, it took a few chapters. And then the chapter of trying to get it back. The whole process spans about a quarter of all the chapters out so far, not counting the strictly unrelated chapters in between (though one might say they contributed by reinforcing Rihito's decision not to leave Noa alone too much).

But sure, since the author chose to forget the whole thing, it means that arc is over.

No, you are misunderstanding. Episodic series do that quite a lot.

Episodic series can use points from previous chapters....

But that doesn't mean that everything is one big over arching story....

But what it does mean is that the author could just have the easy to solve issues solved off screen without any mention.

This gives the advantage of him not wasting space, but at the same time, because it wasn't actually mentioned, if he's out of ideas, he can use it as a plot point.

Also, episodic stories can have a few chapters connecting together.

But not everything needs to be significant.

Like, in the previous chapter, him having the switch there wasn't the problem, it was just a macguffin for the problem (aka her being too nervous to see him).

It's an internet post.... you can add stylization in ways you can't for academic papers.... and it can get ideas across more easily.

And let's be honest, a B- is practically an A+ by internet standards...

Glad that none of the new girls that have been introduced have any romantic interest in Rihito. The new character is pretty inoffensive, but I'd agree with the hate if she was in love with the main character, that sort of pathetic harem antics would really kill the manga. And yet I'm sure that many of the comments disliking her would be fine if that that was the case...
