i think the "short while" was refering to the "non-intrusive" part and not the duration of the ad camaign itself.

Pretty sure they had an ad for Yes my Queen a day or two ago. Sometimes I get it and sometimes I don't.
Clicking on it is supposed to open your mail app like Outlook, I believe.

Just got this one, not gonna lie seeing an ad on MangaDex with ©KADOKAWA made me giggle and I'm all for it, oh the irony
(And yes I clicked on it of course)

2025-10-05: We didn't expect the ad banners to get displayed the way they did (they're comically big due to us testing with smaller placeholder banners), and we're working on a rework to make the ads be less annoying in general.

I'm a bit technologically challenged so maybe Im just missing something or doing something wrong but I have an ad blocker and am still seeing ads. Why is that? Its kinda annoying is all.

Because is just an image with a link, is not like the ads that you see in other websites that are inserted with a script from a third party platform and they dictate what to show in the website, ad blockers don't see a difference to something like your pfp with a link to your profile

Just opened the website in a browser without uBlock and good lord lmao, you're right. Calling it non-intrusive with that size and placement is taking the fucking piss a bit.

Not sure if this was already said, but any advertisement will be seen as income by publishers, regardless of what you say the funds will be used for, and gives them the justification to stop looking the other way and come after the site. This site was already big and popular enough to come after with that mass DMCA not too long ago, so they already have eyes on the site. You're just giving them another reason to come after the site yet again.
