Chapter 53 - The Operation Begins

The chapter begins on Friday at 11:00 p.m., as Mitsuru enters the Inoue building with a disheartened Azusa by his side.

At midnight, Asuka checks the time on her phone and thinks to herself, '...It’s time.'

Asmodeus shows up.

Asmodeus: Asuka-san. Sorry for the wait... Are you ready?
Asuka: Yes!

The MC also appears, panting from running.

MC: Wait! Wait!
Asuka: Souichi-kun!? W-... What are you doing here!?
MC: Haa, haa... I heard from Takeuchi-san (Miku). Asuka, no! Don’t get involved in this! I-... I’ll be the one to go in!

Asmodeus wears a strange smile as she hears what the MC said and thinks, '...What a troublesome kid. Even at this point, he wants to ruin everything by letting his sense of justice and compassion take over. I wonder if I was too lenient in my choice.'

Asuka: B... But..

MC: YOU DON’T HAVE TO WORRY! NO MATTER WHAT TAKESHIGE(Mitsuru) HAS DONE, I COULD NEVER HATE YOU! I WILL STOP TAKESHIGE!
Asuka: NO! IF MY BROTHER GETS ANGRY... HE’LL DEFINITELY DO SOMETHING TERRIBLE TO SOICHI-KUN!

Asmodeus: Alright, alright... I get that you get along. But there’s no time...

Asuka grabs Asmodeus’s hand and proceeds to enter the building.

MC: UGH...

Near the door, Asmodeus looks at the MC with a smile and thinks, '...But of course, I’ll take good care of you. You’re a very important partner to me.' She then signals Miku to call the police.

Miku: ...Is that the police? I just saw a girl being kidnapped, and I think she’s being raped... Yes. ...Where?

Asmodeus, Asuka, and the MC walk through the building’s worn, gloomy corridors. The MC thinks, 'Since we’re talking about Takeshige, Asuka isn’t in danger. So, Azusa should be the priority.' He grips his teleport marker tightly.

They reach an apartment door whose door knob unlocks with a password.

Asmodeus: It’s here. Let’s open it.

Asmodeus starts entering the password on the door knob.

Asuka: Wait, how are you going to—?

Asmodeus says, "It's open," making a V-sign with both hands.

Asuka thinks, "Who is this woman really?"

MC: I… will go in first.
Asuka: S-... Souichi-kun! I-... I...
Asmodeus: Go ahead, go ahead.

The MC starts to open the door and hears moans. When he enters the room, he sees Mitsuru... having sex with an unknown girl (he’s probably raping her, actually). Mitsuru has a shocked expression.

MC: AZU-

The MC thinks, "...Isn't that right!? W-Who is she!?" and the chapter ends on this cliffhanger.

Based on this and Chapter 47, where Mitsuru strikes a deal with Toshi—who agrees, saying, "Sounds stupid, but also kind of fun, so I'm in. So, when do we do it?"—and considering Mitsuru’s goal is to show the MC "the real NTR," it seems they went ahead with the exchange Toshi wanted back in Chapter 36.

I’m wondering if Asmodeus already knew it would turn out like this. She probably did. She seemed pretty nonchalant when she said, “Go ahead, go ahead.”
Also, I’m already mentally preparing for when they show what’s being done to Azusa.

Thank you for the update and really cliffhanger and it’s not even her I’m really not liking this this series makes this icky feeling in me when I read it and it will only go away once I found out how the Azusa plot lien ends and it’s probably going to be awful and make me want to gouge my eyes out i have seen and read worse but this is just structured in a way that frustrates me

And Asmodeus has been more and more in the way as they go, I don't like when the "genie" has to actively put their fingers on the scale to make the bad things they want to happen.

Part of Long Hair’s rape and blackmail scheme involves taking photos during or after the assault and constantly threatening to release them. So I imagine Toshi is doing the same—taking pictures or even recording video.

Chapter 54 – An Unexpected Ending

The chapter picks up right where the last one left off, with the MC staring at Mitsuru and the unknown woman—who are both looking back at him.

The MC is stunned and confused. "That’s not Azusa! Who is this woman? Weren’t they supposed to call Azusa? Is this a trap? Have I been deceived? Why? I don’t know... What do we do now? What should I do? What am I supposed to do?" he thinks.

Asuka enters the room. Mitsuru is in shock, and the woman, recognizing her, looks furious.

Unknown woman: "YOU!"

Asuka: "I-... IMAI-SAN!? W-... WHY...?"
Mitsuru: "SAKURABA! YOU! YOU EVEN INVOLVED ASUKA!!"

Furious, Imai storms toward Asuka, kicks her in the face, knocking her to the ground, then climbs on top of her and begins choking her.

Imai: "HA-AGH-HAH!"
Imai: "IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT! YOURS! YOU MADE ME QUIT MY JOB! YOU SENT MEN TO RAPE ME! GIVE IT BACK TO ME! GIVE ME BACK MY VIRGINITY!"

The MC tries to pull Imai off Asuka.

MC: "H-... HEY! STOP!"
Imai: "SHUT UP!"

The MC recalls what his part-time job manager said back in chapter 33. He thinks, "Is that the part-time girl who fought with Asuka-chan, the one the manager mentioned earlier…?"

Mitsuru grabs Imai by the hair, pulls her off Asuka, and starts kicking her.

Mitsuru: "YOU..."
Imai: "IT HURTS!"
Mitsuru: "WHOSE SISTER ARE YOU LAYING YOUR HANDS ON, BITCH!?"
Imai: "GAH…!?"

Imai lies on the ground, curled up in pain from the kicks.

Imai: "U-... UGH..."

The MC grabs Asuka, who appears to be unconscious.

MC: "ASUKA! ASUKA!"

Mitsuru grabs Imai by the hair and yells at her.

Mitsuru: "FOR A BITCH WHO SHOULD ONLY MOAN WITH PLEASURE WHEN A PENIS IS INSIDE HER, YOU’RE LOSING CONTROL!!"

Mitsuru stands up and stomps on her head.

Mitsuru: "DO YOU WANT ME TO TEACH YOU YOUR PLACE!? TELL ME!"
Imai: "UU... S-... STOP..."
Mitsuru: "STOP? I’M COMPLETELY ANGRY!"

Mitsuru then delivers a kick to Imai’s head, knocking her unconscious.

Mitsuru: "DAMN YOU!"

Mitsuru turns toward the MC, who is holding Asuka.

Mitsuru: "SAKURABA... YOU CROSSED THE LINE! YOU... INVOLVED ASUKA IN THIS! DAMN IT, I’LL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO KILL YOU!"

Three police officers show up.

Police officer: "DON’T MOVE! POLICE!"

The police take in the scene: Imai, naked and unconscious at Mitsuru’s feet; Mitsuru, also naked; and Asuka, with a bleeding nose and unconscious in the MC’s arms. They proceed to detain Mitsuru.

Police officer: "YOU’RE UNDER ARREST!"
Mitsuru: "LET ME GO! LET ME GO! IT’S NOT MY FAULT!"
Police officer: "YOU’RE UNDER ARREST!"
Mitsuru: "SAKURABAAAA! YOU’LL REMEMBER ME, YOU BASTARD!!"

As the MC gives his statement to the police, Asmodeus watches from atop a nearby building. She thinks, “What an unexpected ending. Did someone beat me to it…? Hehe.”

Asmodeus takes flight, her large wings spreading wide against the backdrop of the full moon. She ponders, “How interesting… really interesting. I WONDER WHAT HAPPENED.”

A flashback begins, taking us back to 11:15 p.m. Azusa lies naked in bed, with Mitsuru on top of her. She looks utterly defeated, disheartened.

Mitsuru: "Today, I’m also going to give you lots of love... Azusa-chan."

And that’s where the chapter ends.

Insight:

Welp, it seems my insight about chapter 53 was correct. The unknown woman really is the one who had problems with Asuka at work—and who was kidnapped and gang-raped by Toshi and his accomplices at Mitsuru’s request. So now Mitsuru has gone through with the “girl swap” — a.k.a. sex trafficking — that Toshi wanted back in chapter 36, handing Azusa over to Toshi and getting Imai in return.

Looks like we’ll find out what happened to Azusa in the next chapter.

Things I’m wondering:

• Did the MC give a detailed statement to the police mentioning Azusa and the whole situation? I doubt it.
  
  
• Will the police conduct a full investigation of Mitsuru—checking his phone, finding photos of other girls, and tracking them down to see if they want to press charges? I doubt it. Asmodeus might interfere here, just like she did with Yuki, the first guy they got revenge on.
  
  
• Is Azusa kidnapped and being held captive? In chapter 36, Toshi mentioned kidnapping Imai, but it wasn’t clear if she was kept captive the entire time.
  
  
• Will Asmodeus use her powers on Mitsuru to find out what happened and where Azusa is? Probably.

Other thoughts:

• Just being arrested isn’t nearly enough punishment for Mitsuru. After everything he’s done, at the very least he should end up in a harsh prison where he’ll be raped every day.
  
  
• Looks like Asmodeus’ plan failed, huh. Seems like she’s not omniscient, which is good, and from what we know, Azusa might be in an even worse situation now. I hope the MC confronts Asmodeus about her failed plan.

Insight:

Welp, it seems my insight about chapter 53 was correct. The unknown woman really is the one who had problems with Asuka at work—and who was kidnapped and gang-raped by Toshi and his accomplices at Mitsuru’s request. So now Mitsuru has gone through with the “girl swap” — a.k.a. sex trafficking — that Toshi wanted back in chapter 36, handing Azusa over to Toshi and getting Imai in return.

Looks like we’ll find out what happened to Azusa in the next chapter.

Things I’m wondering:

• Did the MC give a detailed statement to the police mentioning Azusa and the whole situation? I doubt it.
  
  
• Will the police conduct a full investigation of Mitsuru—checking his phone, finding photos of other girls, and tracking them down to see if they want to press charges? I doubt it. Asmodeus might interfere here, just like she did with Yuki, the first guy they got revenge on.
  
  
• Is Azusa kidnapped and being held captive? In chapter 36, Toshi mentioned kidnapping Imai, but it wasn’t clear if she was kept captive the entire time.
  
  
• Will Asmodeus use her powers on Mitsuru to find out what happened and where Azusa is? Probably.

Other thoughts:

• Just being arrested isn’t nearly enough punishment for Mitsuru. After everything he’s done, at the very least he should end up in a harsh prison where he’ll be raped every day.
  
  
• Looks like Asmodeus’ plan failed, huh. Seems like she’s not omniscient, which is good, and from what we know, Azusa might be in an even worse situation now. I hope the MC confronts Asmodeus about her failed plan.

I’m not sure if they dropped it, but they’ve never been in a hurry to translate this crap. There are always months-long gaps between releases. Plus, I don’t know if they’ll post on MangaDex again—it’s been two months since they uploaded anything here. I checked their website, and they’re still stuck on chapter 45 there too.

I’ve given up on any kind of absolution for Azusa, she’s going to spend the rest of her life haunted by this shit. At least let her live…

Mitsuru should be put under the jail and seeing how he was caught dead to rights the police might actually do their job in universe. Even when he gets out, he’ll never have a relationship with his mother again, let alone his sister. About as much punishment as you can mete to the guy.

Asuka I think is going to be kept in the dark for now in relation to the real details of how all this began, but she’s going to carry guilt for her brother’s crimes and possibly receive harassment over it.

As for Sakuraba, at this point I think he’s going to skate completely. All he has to do is keep his mouth shut and he “gets the girl” in Asuka, three side pieces (for now), superpowers and an immortal demon rape concierge. I’m back to being a Sakuraba hater again, fuck this guy.

All in all, I think we’re set up for a time skip where all the players come back with raised stakes, and hopefully Azusa with a gun.

• Will the police conduct a full investigation of Mitsuru—checking his phone, finding photos of other girls, and tracking them down to see if they want to press charges? I doubt it. Asmodeus might interfere here, just like she did with Yuki, the first guy they got revenge on.
  
  
• Is Azusa kidnapped and being held captive? In chapter 36, Toshi mentioned kidnapping Imai, but it wasn’t clear if she was kept captive the entire time.

• Just being arrested isn’t nearly enough punishment for Mitsuru. After everything he’s done, at the very least he should end up in a harsh prison where he’ll be raped every day.

The cops are really fuckin stupid. They saw the girls tied up in whatshisface's apartment. They told them exactly what happened. The cops saw them hanging out and being friendly with MC. MC also has a solid alibi. There should be literally nothing else to it. From their perspective, there's literally nothing to mastermind when, again, the victims are hanging out with the guy they're acting suspicious of.

Chapter 55: The Substitute Woman

The chapter is a flashback revealing what happened to Azusa. It’s Friday, 11:15 p.m.

Azusa is lying in bed, naked and catatonic, with Mitsuru on top of her. She’s remembering the kiss she saw between the MC and Asuka.

Azusa thinks, "It can’t be helped... I’ve been defiled. Sou-chan wouldn’t like a woman like me either... Nothing matters anymore..."

Mitsuru places his hand on Asuka’s face and says:

Mitsuru: “Today, I’m going to give you lots of love too… Azusa-chan ♡”

Someone starts knocking loudly on the door.

Mitsuru: “Shit! Who is it? I wrote in the chat that I was going to use this room today! Didn’t you see it?”

The knocking continues as Mitsuru gets up to open the door.

Mitsuru: “AH… SHUT UP! SHUT UP!”

Mitsuru opens the door and finds Sawada-sensei, the female teacher from chapter 31, and Akagi-kun, the male student who appeared in chapter 44.

Mitsuru: “STOP THAT! IDIO—! HUH...? SAWADA-SENSEI!?”
Sawada-sensei: “MOVE AWAY!”

Sawada-sensei enters the apartment and walks over to Azusa, who is sitting on the bed hugging her knees.

Sawada-sensei: “What are you doing..?”
Mitsuru: “W-... WHAT’S GOING ON!? THIS IS TRESPASSING! HEY...!”
Sawada-sensei: “SHUT UP!”

Sawada-sensei covers Azusa with a blanket.

Sawada-sensei: “It’s all okay now… Hayami-san…”
Azusa: "...It’s all okay?"
Mitsuru: “Sensei… I don’t know what misunderstanding you have… but what we’re doing is completely consensual…”
Sawada-sensei: “Even if that were true, it’s still an illicit sexual relationship.”

Sawada-sensei hands Azusa’s clothes to Akagi and tells him to take her away.

Sawada-sensei: “Akagi… Take Hayami-san away from here.”
Akagi: "Y-yes... Hayami-san… let’s go!”
Mitsuru: “HEY! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DO-!?”

Mitsuru tries to stop Azusa from leaving, but Sawada-sensei grabs his wrist and twists his arm.

Mitsuru: “OUCH, OUCH, OUCH! LET ME GO! YOU SHITTY TEACHER!”
Sawada-sensei: “GO! QUICK!”
Akagi: "Y-yes..."

Akagi rushes through the door with Azusa. As they leave, Azusa spots a girl standing in the hallway — it’s Imai, and she looks pissed. Azusa thinks, "A girl?"

Akagi: “There’s a taxi waiting at the back door!”

Akagi and Azusa get into the taxi.

Akagi: “let’s leave now!”
Taxi driver: "...Okay."
Akagi: “Phew... Everything’s okay now.”

Azusa thinks, “Okay... What’s okay about this? As long as he have those photos, no matter how much I run... it won’t do any good.”

Akagi gives a Joker-like smile as he says the next line.

Akagi: “Everything will be fine, let’s leave it in Sawada-sensei’s hands.”

Back at the apartment with Mitsuru and Sawada-sensei, it was all just an act.

Mitsuru: “That’s enough. Let me go.”
Sawada-sensei: “Yes… it’s fine.”
Mitsuru: “So… who will be Azusa-chan’s replacement?”
Sawada-sensei: “Come in.”

Imai walks in. She looks distressed.

Sawada-sensei: “Miwa Imai. She’s the stupid girl who was harassing your sister.”
Mitsuru: “THIS ONE...?”
Sawada-sensei: “I guess it was just jealousy. I can’t believe she ruined her life over that. At first, she screamed and cried, but now they’ve trained her well.”
Mitsuru: “Are you saying she’s in the same position as you?”
Sawada-sensei: “Don’t compare me to her. I love Toshi-sama… I’m not like this girl who can’t resist because of fear and pleasure.”
Mitsuru: “In my opinion… Both of you are just bitches.”

Insight:

Welp, that explains why, when the MC told Sawada-sensei about the 'rumor' that Azusa had been raped in chapter 31, she thought, “This is... something I can’t really delve into. I wonder if we can erase those rumors…”

I’m wondering if Akagi is actually Toshi, or if he just works for him…

Also, the conversation between Sawada-sensei and Mitsuru at the end made me wonder if Toshi also has a contract with some demon… It seems like he’s doing something similar to what the MC did with Miku, Sekido, and Hina.

And Azusa’s situation only gets worse… Now, on top of everything else, it looks like she’s going to be held captive. She’ll probably be corrupted and end up loving Toshi, just like Sawada-sensei. Oh well.
