I wish the girl wore some clothes in addition to the coat, but otherwise this seems mildly promising. It's hard to say if the author can keep this interesting, though, in the long run. You never know when the title itself suggests it's all centered around a single idea. I really like Flying Witch, so while this is kind of different, it could turn out to be good. At least it's a good sign the witches aren't behaving just like normal folks.

Did he seriously break his promise and just run away like that? It would be one thing to renegotiate stating that while he promised to do her a favour, that specific order does not count as it is worth more than a favour to him. Or whatever drivel he wants to use to keep his promise but still pull that off the table (like, maybe "a favour, but not that favour"). But no, he actually simply ran off before fulfilling his side of a contract, with no indication of an intention to keep his word (in some shape or form) in the future.

@lan yes? Even back then, I had decided to keep my word no matter what. Which is also why I grew to be good at avoiding making promises, or wording them weakly ("I promise to try"), and at bending my words such that an unexpected situation doesn't leave me stuck in a paradox. Or when that fails, argue that the spirit of the deal is what matters (which also is what allows a person to release me from my promise to them, if they no longer want it ("Can you get me the milk?" "sure, after this!" "nevermind I got it myself!")).
Which is why his contempt at renegotiating or reclarifying the deal is upsetting.

@feha a promise without clearly defined setting isnt a promise, so he in no way broke his promise by any stretch, the assumption with a verbal non defined promise is that both sides are even

and at no point did he promise to have sex with her, he followed her up the mountain and listened to just like he promised, its her fault for trying to get him to do something so extreme with no proper explanation
