And you don't need to explicitly say its a promise, for it to be a promise. Saying "I guess I can" definitely counts as a tentative confirmation from his side.
I did already say that the word choices were such that he has leeway to claim the request was not within the deals bounds (both in terms of the spirit of the deal, and the wording of it, there has never been a question of whether he can get out of it), and she is definitely trying to manipulate him yeah (no other reason to postpone the exact details of her request until after she already fulfilled her side of the bargain - he could even argue she did it before the full bargain was established, making the request null and void). So refusing that specific order is as I mentioned well within the parameters. The issue is as I have said multiple times
that he suddenly ditches her and runs off in a way that clearly shows he intends to bail on things entirely (no refuting of her claims about breaking the promise, so in his mind he is). And no, suddenly claiming he has little time and suddenly must sprint away makes no sense in that situation.
