Poor glasses guy, he’s the first guy who got laid but at what cost, the girl he liked didn’t have the guts/will to make it serious. Feels like every relationship but the mc’s one is bittersweet, it’s kinda sad.
The pacing is all over the place. For quite a few chapters nothing really happened but close to the end it feels incredibly rushed. Gives off the impression of poor planing
Uncomfortable implications considering one 'participant' clearly wants to be anywhere else. From the start this comic is trying to get away with a lot of questionable depictions of minors and interpretations of consent with the excuse of "witches be crazy".
We're coming off an arc that had Chikage's mom suddenly appear and curse Makoto to use his life as a bargaining chip so Chikage never associates with him again and becomes a "proper" witch. It was resolved solved in part by Uruchika being more powerful than all 3 head witches. It's incredibly contrived but it showed the strength and resolve Makoto and Chikage have to be with each other. All these other "relationships" end up looking much more frail and cowardly because of it.
Well it makes sense because they are normal kids who don't have a witch for a girl-friend. Them stumbling into their love lives is just a natural part of growing up and I'm glad that despite some complaining authors still portray this kind of love too.
