Ehh, it's fine, all kids are awkward when it comes to their feelings, especially during their middle school years.

Hell, I still recall acting icecold to a girl I liked towards the end of high school who was trying to say "hi" to me - it was just a panic reaction. Fortunately, this seemed to have turned her off of me forever, so I'm glad I ruined that route at least.
