Uruchika is so selfless it hurts, I don't feel she deserves a wearisome end when she assumed a higher position for the sake of Chikage. IMO Uruchika is the backbone of this series, the person who cleans up after and indulges Chikage isn't appreciated enough. As Chikage's guardian, she deserves better.

It's a cute ending, but the author should've been more direct about some parts of the story. I mean, it's heavily implied that the woman with the eyepatch is the MC's mother, it's heavily implied that they had sex at some point, but it ended with just that, heavily implied things. That's fine in a novel, but not so much in a visual medium like manga.
I get what your saying, but these days it's seems in every medium including manga, the audience/readers[most] expect direct answers for everything with nothing left to the imagination or leaving it to the readers/audience to put it together. I have respect for the author having restrained. Doesn't make it a masterpiece by any means but still respect and nice in a way.

I actually love these kind of life goes on endings. I really don't care that things were heavily implied and you had to read in between the lines with the subtext. Things were messy and a bit awkward and it makes sense they couldn't really talk about certain things to the best of their ability depending on the situation. It was a great read all the way through.

When I first read the 1st chapter, all those years ago, I really liked it, not because of the ecchi-ness (sure that too) but more because of the wholsesomeness and mindset of a young teenager.
Now I'm glad that I came back after so many years to finish it!
Makoto and Chikage, may you live a happy and fulfilling life 💖😄😁

I'll give this 3/5. It was a fun read but i disappointed with the ending. I know there's subtle hint and all but this a bit disappointed

That acquaintance part is so funny. At first, I thought, "Wait, so Chinami didn't pass?" And then the next page makes me laugh. True, he didn't say "from our school" but specifically said "acquaintance." I'm kind of sad Chinami only appears for a bit; I think she's an interesting character.

I really enjoyed this series. It's sad that a lot of things weren't addressed, especially that Chikage didn't even manage to be a witch. But overall, it's good.

just realised cyclops is chikages mom (probably)
They have the same eyes and hair colour, the fact she went to see her during graduation (sobering you always see parents do in Japan as they finish one chapter in their life, and the way she acted when Chikage said she was abandoned by her parents.

I can at least be sure that it is heavily implied, but not outright said, that the president is the actual mother of Chikage

Regarding the chapter:

Seeing Uruchika (godmother) and Akaboshi (mom, obviously) on graduation day was such a blessing, it must have been both great but also sad for Akaboshi, as the pact with the spirit she made was to let go of her daughter, otherwise it would get jealous and kill Komori alongside her loved one, which probably why she sacrificed her eye for.

I'm glad that at least one background couple got a seemingly end game, Kaori sure have worked HARD to end up with Andou after all...

Very good guess is Andou couldn't hold it any longer and eventually fulfilled Komori wish and finalized the deal, we didn't see it obviously since they're both middle schoolers, what did you expect, pervs...

Ayo, asking for a broom ride after doing the deal? It would be painful...

As for the story:
It was a fun ride, could assume Hiragi selfish wish for Komori for her to make the deed after they get to know each other was sort of grooming her, but he had his moment of doubt and leave her on accessions where she could become a witch without his intervention, but in the end it was love on first sight till the end.

Characters:
Komori - was indoctrinated by her master Henrietta, but due even to her isolation, she chosen to fulfill Komori interest in outside world, much to council wish.

Hiragi - started out as a regular preschooler, remained as pure as possible although having lustful ideas along the way, didn't strand from taking a route to get to know Komori before making the deed.

Saeki - wish we could get more of her progress with Chinami, she clearly had interest in her, especially revealing how she "swings" during the incense intensified party.

Okamura - although he was branded as The Pervert of the story, gave good relationship advices to Hiragi and was considerate to kuundere Sanba, bringing her out to be more straightforward with her feelings. Wish we could see them more, I was rooting for them more than main couple to be honest...

Hibiki - she was pretty good portrayed as a rival at one point to Komori, but eventually got just an one night stand with Noro. To be honest, one of most tragic character introduced, with a baggage of family failures that caused her to let go of one who might just be the one...

Uruchika - started out as caretaker after Henrietta passing, but eventually grew to be A godmother to Komori, supporting her even if it was opposing the council of witches. Too bad we didn't see her making a change to the whole organization...

Overall, pretty good story, too bad ot was obviously axed and rushed to the end, would love to see the progress of Komori and Hiragi in highschool with adapting the spiritual world of witches with modern society.

9/10 only because -1 to see much more!
