I saw this semi-recently but I want to say once more, thank you so much for translating this and introducing Fumiko Okada (among a few other mangaka) to the English-speaking sphere =)

Thank you for the TL! I really liked the art style here, the way the characters’ faces are drawn (their eyes, really) reminds me of Coraline a little. Also poor Canon, he (literally) gets his heart broken after his mother slaps him, even after declaring that he closed off his heart from her…

I also wonder why the “screams” of the trumpets bothered him, or what the significance of the cat and birds are throughout the chapter. I wonder if they represent anything symbolically?
