@Barnacles Contrariwise, I often find that shoujo with male protagonists are good. I guess it's just that if the mangaka is stepping out of that comfort zone because they have a real vision of the story they want to tell, it's gonna be a step up from the average.

@Purplelibraryguy Yep I love the reverse too. And you're right. I've noticed that manga where the author writes an MC of the opposite gender tend to be exceptional. As far as shoujo goes, Ohayou Ibarahime is a fantastic example while Act Age is one of the best shounen ones.
