Egyptians used kohl eyeline to reduce sun glare, fashion and medicinal purposes, it would be more reasonable for the author to make that instead sunglasses store.

Although there were sunglasses even at 5000BC, but it wasn't made out of glass, but was an eye mask made of bone or wood with narrow slits, but even people living in Africa didn't use them, they were worn in cold climate regions during snow to prevent snow blindness.
