Yeah, author, it's show and don't tell for a reason lol. You can't just hand-wave it away as "oh yeah he's been putting in work since the beginning, I just didn't show it whoops"

Nah it's because he was isekai'd - so he must have an absolutely massive mana pool - since these MCs need cheat buffs, or the author will actually have to write a compelling reason for their MC to grow and not just

There should be a mandatory trip for those authors writing european style fantasy to a sword range to see their "all-powerfull" katanas get destroyed by some longswords or zweihander. You'd think an MC that learned sword fighting from the best knight would understand that sharpness isn't a property unique to katanas, and that any kind of weapon has its specialty.

Also, an axe for the maid? No range, no gard, no balance, hard edge alignement. A spear or naginata would have made better sense, or a rapier, since he can make it unbreakable with his magic.

Considering these stories usually have time skips of a month+ I don't see the point of giving MC's infinite magic, a reasonably large Magic pool and montage would suffice and you don't run into the problem of making your MC boring immediately.
