I was thinking of Tamamo-chan's a Fox, which was really popular a few years back but was completely forgotten when it got licensed. Though I think it's only a couple of volumes that haven't been scanlated, because it ended fairly soon after it got licensed.
I would be surprised if the artist isn't a little bit inspired by that manga, it has a lot of similiarities.
