Actually it's not a metaphor but a hyperbole.
A metaphor is when you mention a thing instead of another for emphasis effect
Ex: That guy is a chicken. (meaning that he is a coward)
A hyperbole is when you exaggerate a phrase for rethoric effects
Ex: That thing weighted a ton, I've broken my back bringing it to you.
