yeah but really if translated to english it is a mix of feminine boy (or femboy) and cross dresser.
ngl femboy is so over used nowadays I feel a little dead inside when I read it but well it is accurate and might as well use the word that are in the language I am currently speaking, using otokonoko feel like using "just according to keikaku"

But yeah it is a word that would still be so much better than trap cause you know it at least respect people intelect

Great you've done this but these are from chapters 73-81.5 so you've put them out of order by numbering them how you have, as Shiori says and you've translated this takes place before the first Minato book, I'd suggest numbering this one 81.8 and the one with Asahi 73.5 to keep continuity.

Look, I hate "trap". In fact I was coming here to protest it myself. It's related to the gay panic defense. This is not opinion, this is reality. But I will say if you have no empathy whatsoever for LGBT people who feel intimidated by the casual use of "trap" and will die on that hill, then I'm internally judging you as a person. If that doesn't bother you I think that, so be it. I won't browbeat you and I doubt you want to be browbeaten. We obviously have nothing to say to each other. As it stands, this is a thing regardless of anyone's opinions:

"Femboy" is fine. I'm fine with "femboy/femboi". I'm fine with "otokonoko" if you just want to use the literal Japanese word. But please, I beg you. Don't use "trap". Not if you actually care about the real flesh and blood people subverting gender in the real world.

Trap should just stop being used and we should start resorting to either femboy, crossdresser or otokonoko. Trap implies the person is trapping you which they arent
This exactly. Think about the framing of the word "trap". It's a description from the perspective of the person being entrapped. As in, usually a straight male who has been bamboozled and therefor harmed, even if comedically at best. Since the word "trap" is inherently a word with a negative context.

Even the most harmless possible interpretation of "trap" is still making beautiful, beautiful gender subversion about the conflicted emotions of some surprised straight male.

There are plenty of people offended by being called a femboy too despite it generally being accepted nomenclature these days. I think the only decent solution here is to just leave any instances of 男の娘 in the raw as otokonoko and use crossdresser/crossdressing for 女装 and whatever other terms they use in Japanese.

Honestly, I think compromise is warranted here. Femboy I think is a cute word, personally. If you're offended by that, remember you could piss people off enough to throw up their hands go "whatever, I liked TRAP anyway". It may not be an ideal word but I think it works until we come up with a better word. I personally really like "otokonoko" but I recognize it's more syllables than native English speakers are comfortable with using in a single word.

In general we very much are in a cultural transition. If I had answers for how we get through this, I wouldn't be commenting in a manga's translation thread, I'd be making an actual difference. But I do know "trap" can't go unchallenged without being reminded of the gay panic defense. (and the issue of framing)

Lol, poor bro being lusted after his femboy persona.

Anyways, addressing the elephant in this room with all you retards in the comments: femboy, trap, otokonoko, it doesn't fucking matter, it's just a fucking label that you can put on yourself if that's what you want to be called so yeah, stop acting like morons.
