This game had so many things that would be more than questionable in term of game design, this isnt surprising.
Story point of view its ok and good, point of view of it beeing a game it is dumb.
I mean when other players took CHILDREN players hostage the gamedevs didnt step in at all. Which could very easy be a traumatizing event with how immersive the game is. Then we look at many other things that happened at the events. Or the Fairy Yun got is also in the exact same category.
if you talk about things that could be traumatizing, there's a lot to talk about, the giant insects, zombie hordes, deform monster (pet event/dragon resurrect), ghosts, etc. So I think at least players should know what they're signing up for, and there are actually measures mentioned for underage players, such as intoxicate stat if underage players consume alcohol, so I think if player actually taking children hostage often, there would be countermeasures later; in this case, the player themselves have come up with countermeasures so the dev doesn't need to step in.
talking about countermeasures, there's a lot of cunning ideas like market price manipulation, sabotage, pk, mob-pk, even if there are people like this, they're so few that I doubt dev would do anything immediately, and they also support the righteous side like sudden mob invasion during crafter guild opening.
maybe you're talking about a system like in mmo junkie or late tamer? if oso want to implement that system, they would have to do it from the beginning, or when there's a major scandal that forces them to implement that system, for now I doubt dev would implement that system anytime soon
Yeah, that's the thing with vr game stories. A lot of the ideas are cool within the confines of the story, but would be pretty trash in real life when you think about it. Another good example is the unique boss and scenario situation in Shangri La Frontier; it's super dope in the story, but man would it be kind of messed up to be perma locked out of major story content just because someone else got there first. Compared to that, this event actually kind of makes sense to me in that fighting the construct is part of the process, much like the Zombie Dragon, unless maybe they just missed a step in their haste, and it really only got so bad because Magi jumped the gun and made it quite battle ready 🤔
shala is a world different from oso, oso focuses on the slice-of-life aspect of the player while shala is more of the vr power fantasy, in oso player could even resurrect mob, recover the old civilization, which is already part of the player's reachable scope, as long as they lvl up their senses and have enough items, anyone could perform it, and no unique or special item/sense requires an unorthodox play style or something only some players could have in oso.
Tbf, I don't know if the devs would have planned on people outfitting the bot with the kind of equipment Magi makes. It would have been A LOT easier to beat without all the things Magi equipped it with. I imagine there's also probably some lore stuff they skipped in their enthusiasm for building the doll that would have prepared them better for this possibility, much like how they knew with the dragon bones that weren't any guarantees with what would spawn and that there'd be a fair chance it'd be hostile, they just underestimated the possibilities with this one 🤔
that's correct. Reading carefully, you will notice that magi customize dolls' outer shells, like implementing a spring on its toes or fusing mithril that gains magic resist to equipment, which results in the very powerful doll lmao
I don't think they were supposed to fight the dragon, or this construct, there's probably some step they overlooked in each one, but fighting it and taking it down before it self-destructs still gets you something for the effort. These are crafting events, so I imagine you can redo them if you really want to farm for materials from these optional enemies, it would suck if these were just story quests, and it was just locked after you screwed up.
it's right and wrong; the right is they could avoid the fight with dragon if they know the exactly method of mob revival, and the wrong is they are supposed to make mistakes, in this series you could see that yun and crafter go throught a lot of failure and retry, yun would need to brew a lot of potion to fine-tune the recipe to find the right recipe, aside, this one is not an event, it's just the doll going on rampage, not everything is this game considered event, like dragon revival and clockwork magic doll
