Well I don’t advocate for breast implants, so this argument is null. Please don’t sugar coat self-mutilation as “care”, it’s vile. If I see a person attempting to harm themself, I will not be a bystander. If someone is struggling with their gender, they can receive therapy from a medical professional to help overcome their dissonance.
Genuinely wut? They weren't saying you did, just that you probably don't give a shit about what cis people do to their bodies (and it seems that's true). It's a sign that you don't actually care about people with dysphoria when you only apply your reasoning to them. Do you know how many barriers there are to people receiving gender affirming surgery? They take the choice very seriously and it's typically the last step in a transition, if it even happens at all. Do you seriously think that they don't go to therapists? The idea that you genuinely care about trans and nonbinary people is hard to believe when you use common transphobic talking points and clearly haven't done an ounce of research.
Did you not notice how the person you responded to mentioned the immensely low regret rates. There are higher regret rates for knee surgery for goodness sake. It's almost like they make these major decisions only when they've thought about it long and hard, also
after therapy.
You obviously care about people getting surgery that alters sexual characteristics. I wonder if you also vocally fight against the surgery given to intersex infants without their consent to make them conform to a binary. Or do you act as a
bystander and not do anything or even talk about it. If you genuinely think you support trans and nonbinary people, I suggest you actually do research and get out of transphobic echo chambers. I doubt you'll respond to this rationally and with an open mind, but hey, maybe you'll do even the slightest research and at least use better arguments next time.
