On the cover, is that
on the bottom left and
on the right? It's been a long time, but I don't really remember those two getting illustrations, so I can't tell. Interesting how the first cover goes straight to this family while skipping Liner and Colette.

Ah I remember this light novel a long time ago . I liked it quite a lot. But at one point I remember it starts to nosedive into a lot of issues. There are a some situations where the main character can solve it with all the power he has but he just try to. And the story is supposed to make us show sympathy for him. But as it goes on they really dial it up to 11. It’s almost like he’s trying to break a self sacrifice world record or something when he really doesn’t need to. That said There been quite a lot more chapters since I last read it so it could have improved since then. And the part I’m mentioning won’t come for a long time and it’s all preety good until then.
My boy, THE Harold Stokes finally got a manga huh?! The novel for this shit was great before the author slowed down to a crippled snails pace--which I'm partially blaming his very sudden and very severe fanaticism over a group of Vtubers a few years back. It was so bad I had to unfollow him on twitter.
But that's beside the point--the novel, before it slowed down like 3 years back, was fucking fantastic! If you find you like this, and end up reading the novel but feel you need more content like this, I highly recommend "Trash of the Count's Family". It's only a novel, but unlike Death Flags here, it never slowed down. I think its in the 400's last I remember, and it despite how much I actually loved the Death Flags novel, it trounces it in every category. Another novel like this one is, "The Novels Extra", but that shit starts out great, but goes down hill and never stops going downhill in its entire 300 chapters.
But that's beside the point--the novel, before it slowed down like 3 years back, was fucking fantastic! What are you referencing here? I haven't re-read the novel in quite some time, but I actually have re-read it maybe, 3 or 4 times over the years. I fell off of it for the most part when the chapters slowed down to just a handful every year. Last I remember, it was nearing the end it felt like. Harold had fought off Liner's party (Liner, Erika, Colette, uhh, axe guy, uhh, shitty rapier guy, and that alchemist girl.) He had to fight them because they had beaten up Ventus and Lillium. I haven't read since then, which might have been at the start of either this year, or last year.

Maybe I will have a different impression now if I read it but at least what I can remember wasn't the best.
It's been a long time since I've actually read it and by this point I've forgotten most of the story. I'm just remembering my last impressions before I stopped. I think the main guy was working with the villain or something like that and sacrificing his life span was a thing arround the point I stopped.
