He really is just a man who, abused by his past life, became a broken person. He's still so afraid of being alone or feeling lonely, just like a kid... thinks of Elon Musk... Well, actually, maybe this suits his age just fine.

Kind of messy, but she should understand that there are two pillars in Liam's life, her and Brian (and Yasushi if we're being generous) that made him the man he is today. And even though he has lived longer as Liam, it seems the trauma from his past life is nowhere resolved or diminished.

How the fuck is this parasocial when they're right next to each other. Learn what you're talking about
That's why I said it feels eerie. It is partially because I see Amagi as still, a replacement for his parents, like a little monkey hugging a steel representation of a mother (Look up Harry Harlow's baby monkey experiment).
Sure, it's flesh and blood, all that, but this still feels like someone having a character.ai girlfriend because they can't get one. It's both a sad and scary sight, considering the direction teens and youngsters are headed to in this age of technology. It's that parallel I'm seeing, where one does not reciprocate another, or an "act" of it.

It is eerie because Amagi is not a real, independent person. She is subservient by design and created to put her master before herself in all aspects. So they can't have a healthy relationship as equals because they're not equals. They're master and slave, regardless of how benevolent the master is and how happy the slave is.

I find it unnerving for a machine to show human-feelings, especially if imitating it.
The whole intro about "A.I overthrew humanity..." has a reason to it, you want predictability. Emotion sure as heck ain't that.
