I was talking about how this is a good way for him to gain enough power to actually ACTUALLY get back at MC rather than half-arsing it like he's been semi forced into doing so far.

Last reason is that Guide is blinded from wanting to kill MC, and he doesn't notice that when he grants power and "help" to the people hostile to Liam it blinds them too, in the novel Liam

had some close ones and was saved by the guide celebrating and giving more power to the enemy to "ensure" victory, that clouded their judgement and ramped their confidence too much.

As we have seen, Mc is TOO thankful and the appreciation pretty much tanks what reserves he has. Liam’s appreciation is like a robber in the night popping in through the window to stab your in the back, take from your safe then go back leaving his name on a sticky note on said safe. For this guy it’s both pride and survivability unless he drops everything and vacates the area. After all he almost died from the thank yous.

not exactly true. it was stated he has to siphon negative energy from liam because of reasons some chapters ago, hence he's limited by where he can siphon negagative energy (otherwise he could just take it from liam's enemies and be very well fed)

Which doesn't change anything? The guide hasn't been able to absorb anything from Liam since reincarnation since Liam keep doing good things so that clarification has no meaning.

He has been absorbing (and in this case, giving to) energies from people related to Liam so much because he's obsessed with trying to make Liam suffer, so he's only paying attention to those around Liam for possible source of sustenance + pawn to use against Liam.

You see, the baddie has a grudge against Liam for his constant ability to be unusually thankful for him, and last i checked, baddies don’t let go of grudges easily.

It's not only that, but from I understood from other chapters: as an evil god that feeds on grudges, the act of being thanked sincerely instead of hated physically hurts him. And its not merely Liam's gratefulness, he has also been receiving the gratefulness by proxy of others who were saved by Liam (since that's only possible in the first place thanks to the evil god isekai'ing Liam). So its not him being petty, Liam literally has become the bane of his existence.

Like real talk, If this guide told the MC he indented to screw him over. The MC would feel betrayed and the guide would get a good bit of negative emotions. Not as much as if he crushed the MC, but it would give him a good amount. And the MC would stop thanking the guide. And then the guide can go for someone else, like really he can look across all the worlds, why is the MC one he is so stuck on?
Hell the MC wants to be evil, just be upfront, tell him about feeding on negative emotions, The MC would probably team up with him.

The guide's been showing up too much recently. With all his plans now taking root, hopefully there's an all out war, like he's planning, and after Liam destroys them all, we see some development in his noble status. Only then, will we get a bigger story and can get away from this school nonsense. I want to see planetary raids and terraforming, and the likes. You know, REAL space shit! No more academy!!! Htf you gonna make a manga about space and spend the entirety of it at a goddamn school?! Seriously, the second school got brought up (way back when) my anticipation for new chapters plummeted.

I think that's the pride before the fall, after his big failure with the pirates the Guide could've just told Liam "You survived this time but the next time I'll make sure to kill you" or something like that but he's just too prideful.
