I always believed, that if the "guide" didn't help any of the ones that attacked mc, then they would have won.
tbf, MC would fallen into "guide" plan early on but his doggo friend always lead him to right way and foil the guide plan.

I wonder if we gonna see more of him since I don't think I see him in recent arc . (or I just forgot about it)

Totally forgot about the doggo, without him Liam wouldn't have found the OP cube among other things.

Depends
Liam own 'evil' plan always benefit people and get him more allies instead.
The enemies have plan, it just keep getting banana peel'd by Liam.

Like him just wanting to replace all the patrol ships for his own reason?
As the knight girl explains it.
A good amount of current patrol fleet will likely abandoned their duty and become pirates, which will then add to Berkeley's force.

However by replacing these with new ships (the condition is officially they're imperial army's, even after Liam leave) not only is he cutting off Berkeley's force by giving them motivation to stay, but it also let them ignore the fleet size limit since these are technically not Banfield's army but will certainly side with him in official war of Berkeley vs Banfield.

It's not about the gains, it's about pride.
At this point he doesn't care about making...profit? of negative emotions, he just want Liam to suffer.
not exactly true. it was stated he has to siphon negative energy from liam because of reasons some chapters ago, hence he's limited by where he can siphon negagative energy (otherwise he could just take it from liam's enemies and be very well fed)

He's like a worse version of Being X from Youjo Senki in the best ways possible.

Plus, he's a Guide ("God?") of Misery, so everyone he touches becomes miserable. Which, in this case, means they lose to Liam. Liam is unaffected because this dumbass Guide brought his Mood so far into the negatives right before reincarnation that the last bit of Misery caused a stack underflow, and now Liam's happiness is set to 255, but still reads as Miserable. The Guide can't push it down anymore because his paltry "kill them by degrees" tactics just drop Liam's Mood down enough that every time he finds success and becomes happy again, it doesn't stack overflow.

Military commanders are allowed to just take military ships for their own personal fights (not even their fights but other people's fights they're paid for)? No wonder this empire is falling apart.

So if getting MCs enemy poisoned to death by resentment potion lets him drain their corpse for power.
Doesn't that seem a lot easier than trying to fuck over MC? I mean his track record is quite bad against MC.
Yes and no, guide can absorb evil and resentment from anyone and anywhere, but for his bound to Liam the efficency is low, until Liam is lives he is unable to absorb like normal, that is the real reason he wants MC dead, and he doesn't want to wait a millenium.
We can see him absorbing evil to grow in power often, but he dislikes how little he is gaining compared to the amount, he gets a little more if it related to MC, but if is something on the other side of the galaxy and unrelated no matter how big it is he is just absorbing a fraction.
He would have been able to do it normally, but thanks to the interference of the dog spirit the plans failed at the climax, add how when he tries to help by infusing his power to incite the hate it makes the villain unable to think correctly and rush against MC, without care of their own self being, ending up with MC turning the table when cornered, they become drunk on power and blind to the possibility of loss, that opens them up to a counterattack.
Is the same in this case, had the pirate baron family organized in a long period of time to attack MC on multiple sides there could have been a chance to defeat MC, or damage his territory greatly, but guive pushes the attack to happen as fast as possible.
I think for his bound he can't even hop to another dimension anymore, that is funny and important because if he could just return to MC original world and wait some years Liam would die of old age, in the sci-fi dimension time flows faster than Earth.
