When he said he's combining with his ship I thought he meant like as a weapon of sort like SRW T's Tyranado Rex's final attack. Not Fucking ARC GURREN LAGANN type shit! 🤣🤣🤣

But I feel like the answer is to let Liam do what he's been doing, improving his life while making all those in power despair and want vengeance. Literally if he's a god that feeds off despair and vengeance, then he has a whole ass galaxy to fuel him, and he doesn't need to feed off Liam specifically, at this point it's more outta spite than anything.
I believe there is a bit of a quality over quantity thing going on. A single feeling sent directly at the guide seems to have a much bigger impact than thousands or millions of undirected feelings. Part of the obsession with Liam is that Liam is supposed to be cursing him directly, but the opposite is happening.

He gets less from other people, he's specifically tuned to Liam's despair, since he reincarnated him to have him suffer. He can't even cut himself loose anymore.

Oh snap, he managed to get that device, from the guide, which was collecting all the wreckage into a giant mech. I have no idea how that thing is still in one piece after he crushed the enemy flagship that had somehow survived his giant blast.

I wonder how Liam's opponent expects to negotiate; what does he have to offer to Liam exactly?
Yeah I thought same thing, I guess that device can regeneration, if giant mech was able to regain initial?

The god is fueled by feelings of despair and vengeance and, conversely, weakened by hope and gratitude. He can't leave Liam alone because Liam consistently feels gratitude towards him. He needs Liam to die before Liam's gratitude kills him (maybe literally).
Thats the thing, just tell Liam the truth. Might not be enough to make him despair or vengeful, but should get him to stop praising.
Then he can just move on to a new target as clearly Liam isn't worth the trouble.
Its weird how he is being secretive about it in the first place, if he wants hate he needs to reveal himself.

The Guide revealed himself once, and Liam misunderstood it. I understand that doing it again could be effective and stop Liam from being grateful but that's the point, the Guide's tunnel vision is his worst ally.

If we use Pokemon as an analogy (I can't think of any other common ones), to the Guide Liam is like having a permanent Toxic status applied and the Guide can only use whatever random Oran berries he can find to stave off the damage. Unless he gets rid of Liam he's going to die, and this fight put him on his last few HP.

If we use that as a analogy, could get himself a pecha berry, a being who will obviously hate liam very much and also can be caused despair. Say I dunno Liams ex wife from before he was reincarnated, anything like that, there has to be a very powerful being in everything in the new universe who would just hate liam for existing.

Edit: also haven't tried it out but I'm pretty sure moves like rest would override whatever status effect
