I totally can see our new girl here getting interested in non-glasses MC without realizing he is the guy that FMC is talking about. To be fair, that is a misunderstanding FMC made. FMC could have just told the new girl that he is the same person she hangs out with after school and then told new girl not to say anything..who I bet would keep it to herself.

I am more interested in the fact that the owner said something about a place FMC can use that name. Are her parents divorced? Is she the daughter of some bigshot something or other and one of the names is the bigshot's last name and the one she uses at work the other parent's name?

I am now on the fence about the MC's friend with the whole thing about liking a girl in middle school after the interaction that FMC had with the owner. As well as FMC's whole thing about not losing important people to her anymore.

Honestly I appreciate how the MC plays it slow in their relationship even as friends, being quite aware of his position and her situation in the school. A bit realistic on how the romance progress on this manga.

I think a really simple solution to add believability to the situation would have been to have her to always wear a facemask at work. It would have made it a lot harder to identify her with glasses + mask, especially since I've noticed a lot of staff in Japan wearing masks nowadays

I don't know, I think it's kind of nice that the main guy doesn't like the girl because she is pretty, but he treasures their relationship, and he wants to do whatever he can to keep it. The problem is of course on her end where she is starting to fall deep for him, and that she can't control.

I've read ahead a bit on the manga, up to mid 20s, and here you go:

the new girl says she has some other guy she likes that she hasn't seen in a while. the best friend is still a bro - he still advises mc on what to do with mc girl and he introduces her to him. mc finally admits to coworker (i.e. mc girl) and new girl that he is in love with mc girl. this naturally makes coworker girl extremely excited. mc reveals to best friend that he talks a lot about his crush with coworker and new girl and best friend wants to also chime in with them. it's revealed that best friend knows boss guy (new girls' dad) and seem pretty close, the implication possibly being... anyway best friend ends up meeting mc (as waiter) and coworker girl as they talk about what to do next, unclear if best friend realizes who coworker girl actually is.

The best part about this premise is that whenever a classic misunderstanding trope starts, Saitou/Hiragi can just backpedal and fix it before it gets worse. I hope the author continues keeping unnecessary drama to the minimum 🙏
