japanese engrish strikes again.

I thought this was done after the Panji arc but I guess she isn't good enough for him. I need to watch this guy fall down to the depths of despair because obviously being betrayed by everyone he knew wasn't enough.

I dont know Japanese, but I know a little bit about hiraganas and katakanas. The "Ji" (spelled as "G" in English) is in the group of the letters with "Z" sound in them (Za, Ze, Ji, Zo, Zu). They use a smaller version of the "Y..." characters to modify this "Ji" letter, so the "Ji"+"Yo" is spelled as "Jo". The official English romanization it's either "Jyo" or "Jo", but maybe there is a non-English romanization where its "Zyo".

I'm not sure if it's the bad translation or if this story just has no focus but I have no idea what's going on and why it didn't end after Panji arc.

The pacing of each chapter is pretty bad so of course manga only readers won't get where this is going headed to lol

The translation quality, the names, and the story itself have all taken a nosedive this chapter.

"Articles like that won't be written if he doesn't do it."
Has this girl never heard of tabloids? Has she never heard of falsehoods? Of LIES!?

"If only I properly cleared the misunderstanding towards you"
Didn't all three girls explicitly say they had no intention of trying to prevent this from happening when he told them it would?

... Er. Has his friend reverted to gay mode? Don't think I forgot you wiping Joro's crotch a while ago.

@Corb Right? I hate it when translators do that. If you're going to make a change to something, have a page explaining it at the beginning of the first chapter you make the change.

I've never been a fan of the most popular ways of Romanizing Japanese. One of them uses letters that match the Japanese letters more closely (like zyo instead of jo, when it's pronounced as jo), while another entirely leaves out letters that actually matter (like jō instead of joo or jou). In short, I like a Romanization system that gives enough information to spell the word correctly in Japanese but also that suggests the correct pronunciation more clearly.
If it were me, I'd have written the name "Jouro," but the translators chose to go with the Romanization method that the author used on a character profile page, which is perfectly respectable and can be seen as the official way of writing the name (though if this were made into an anime, the "official" writing might change).
