I don't know why but I need more
A TL can also do PR of their own work. It’s quite common if the one handling a project is a small team or a solo person.Should people grade their own JLPT tests? We don't actually even have to make an analogy, I will keep it straight. By claiming that you have proofread your work, you are claiming that you found your translation to be without mistakes. Obviously a translator should think so, that shouldn't need to be said at all. If a translator were to find an error in their translation, then they would correct it, no? Then what does it mean to be a doublet TL/PR? Yet the usefulness of a potential proofreader is ever obvious. Pg. 37, our protagonist asked for something in the top panel. But in the next, it is instead the guildmaster who asked for it. Clearly there is something amiss, and it isn't even a matter of bad Japanese or English but of bad conception of basic human dialogue or interaction. One would have to be impossibly dull to misread the scene, but rarer things have happened. What's the likelyhood of a proofreader also being as dull as the TL here? Even if it happens to everyone (it does, and no amount of "novels" can make you immune), one would think that the odds can be played by doubling up on review, that even if a proofreader can be as dull, it's unlikely to occur on the same page, on the same back-to-back panels, for which it occured for the TL. This is obvious to anyone who works, neverminding translation particularly. In your application of the concept, proofreading is devoid of meaning. Its adoption in the credits is an empty emulation of others, probably stemming from arrogance, hence saith thou "I have been trained by the CIA in gorilla Japanese for 6 years and have over 360 confirmed novels..."
maybe all he has right now is the highest skill in the game and it surpass some of the level of power that other person hasso far it seems to just be the power-fantasy type where everyone else in that world are so weak so he MC, who is lv 1 can still top them.
Jesus Christ... I won't ever use an MTL tool, so forget about that. You guys only know how to complain and whine from your high horses. It seems to be a talent at this point, really. I ain't gonna waste my time on some lot who is only good at tearing people down. One more thing. The thing about solo-play, my aunt died on the day I was translating so I wasn't on top form and I couldn't focus well on my translations. So spare me any more ramblings 'cause I've had enough of that. I will add it in when the TS of the series is back from his hiatus. And seriously, you're asking me to use MTL on a katakana word that I missed when I can read kanji there just fine? Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds? Smh.Lots of errors.
Example: Nobody has ever defeated the SS-ranked dungeon boss in a solo-game*
Not: There has never been a player who cleared a dungeon of SS-rank difficulty --- still.
This series has 37 chapters out and nobody translated it and when it finally gets translated it is by someone that either has no idea what he is doing, likes to cut corners or simply rewrites as he pleases... or all of it at once... wonderful...
I really don't get it, why do so many not simply translate as is rather than messing around damaging the story while adding nonesensical idiot errors...
Yukito? I think I remember noting him multiple times for rewrite, and asked him to stop... but i'll do it again, please stop rewriting and translate it as if at all, if you can't do that then please just quit.
You did already way too much damage to multiple series... you are not the author, a translators job is to translate what the author wrote, not make up stuff, alter it, or cut it shorter than it is.
@Yukito00
And if you want to continue translating please please start translating as is, and if you don't understand something get yourself help from a mtl tool, it also will help you with fixing errors easily.
Pretty sure his inventory is reset just as much as his stats are, so he's going to have to actually get one.Either way, is he going to actually clear a dungeon or is he just going to pop up an elixir from his inventory in chapter 2?
are you gonna continue this? need help? :>Hi everyone! This is another series that we're picking up! For now, we'll try to focus on our current 3 series (Otonari no Onee-san wa XXX Shitai, Hakui no Eiyuu, and Yuukara (the abbreviation of this series)). Enjoy! 🫡
you should probably add this as a note for the next chapterI went with something that starts with "S" and ends with "R". Also, "Suar" originally means "sword, so I thought it's fitting with the fantasy setting.
Yes, I am! I'm just waiting for the boss (he's the CLRD and TS for this series) to get back from his hiatus (which will probably end in 5 days). And yes, we could use some help with TS and CLRD. Thank you kindly for the offer!are you gonna continue this? need help? :>
First of all, technically he's not alive in Japan, but dead (and then reincarnated in an isekai).Just how good is Japan that you can be a NEET for 10 years in your early 20s and still be alive?
Also should have just give the elixir to the princess in private, works well sold as a miraculous cure, if not just try to help her
Actual slop right there. The author seems like a nice person (I liked his comments on the last chapter) but this chapter has so many wholes they might as well put a piece of swiss cheese on each page.
What are the stats? How do they work? Are they absolute? As in a character with 81 STR will always win an arm wrestling against another with 80? What is a class? Why are they important? How do they work? What are levels and what's their importance? How many dungeon tiers are there? What's the difference between let's say tier B and tier C?
You might think I'm nitpicking, but you have to explain your story. I wouldn't want my story to depend on having to read other works to be understood.
The characters are miserable too. SR is a different character every 5 pages. First he's a neet without will to live, getting super anxious just talking to people. Then he's a confident guy that can promise a girl with a terminal desease that, despite just being in this world for like an hour, not knowing if it's the same as the game, and not having ANY real preparation, he can, of course, get the elixir and cure her! After we see him as a weird mix of the 2. Apologetic, denying he's the hero, but taunting the shit out of an unknown girl that RISKS HER LIFE TO SAVE HER FRIEND. And don't even get me started on the fight itself. The girl apparently is lvl 50. If a lvl 50 can get beaten up HARD by a lvl 5, then stats don't matter shit. And what about actual fighting? SR is a neet that's been inside his house for literally a decade. Even if his reincarnated body is better, things like battle sence, tolerance to pain, reflexes, you don't get those playing a game.
I know it's just another isekai slop, but MAN I AM TIRED of this. Do you want to do the generic story? DO IT, IT'S A GOOD STORY, just do it correctly. Danny Phantom didn't invent shit, amazing cartoon. Murim Login is isekai slop done right, great manhwa. Omniscient Reader Viewpoint takes the trope of "oh I'm with my favorite characters in a novel! and goes HAM with it. I'm not asking you to be fucking Kentaro Miura man, just at least read what you write and ask yourself "Does any of this ACTUALLY makes sense?". Don't do it for me, don't do it for the one reading this, do it for you as an author. Strive to be better, always learning from mistakes and trying your best not to do them again. Please, at least make good slop.
